Last chance for everyone to back the "Cubbies" tonight another ridiculous price. What could be better than playing a terrible starter backed by a bullpen full of gas cans and a lineup that can't hit their way out of a paper bag?

Read on this one?

LOL - that pretty much sums up my thoughts! I just can't imagine how they are favored. I played the over, and am trying to resist playing the Cubs. I actually think they will hit tonight. Optimal conditions for a lot of really good hitters. They haven't had a multiple run inning all series!! That will change tonight. Hammel is the worst, so that's obviously the dilemma.

Cubs/Mets Over 9 -110 20 units
F5 over 5 -110 10 units

Yeah, I agree. I like runs here. I don't think Cubs lineup is really that great. It's a lot of strikeouts. Good pitching puts down lineups like this. I think Matz is underrated. Cubs completely out of sync at plate. Bryant (unbelievably overrated) has been hideous this postseason except when he ran into a cookie against the Cardinals. Rizzo surprisingly has been stifled. Schwarber really the only one that scares anyone. Soler too to some extent. Maybe genius Maddon will play Coughlan out there, cause that makes sense.

Hammel on the other hand, my goodness. Thing is you really probably are not going to see much of him. First sign of trouble, it will be someone else. Unfortunately for the Cubs anything of quality worked last night. We might even see Rodney. Yeesh.

Tough situation for me, I have already banked 3 winners on Mets here, do I really want to give any back on this matchup? Not sure. Almost want Mets to bag this one so can get some silly line on wildly overrated and ineffective all year Lester. Best part about Cubs is if you even suggest to one of their fans that any of their heroes (Lester, Arrieta, gulp Hendricks, Bryant) is maybe not that good they actually legitimately get mad at you.

Bombs - I pretty much agree with everything in this post (except maybe the Bryant bit) - but like you said before, how can I possibly pass up the chance to back a terrible starter backed by a bullpen full of gas cans and a lineup that can't hit their way out of a paper bag? It's only money, right?

Cubbies -113 20 units
-1.5 +170 10 units
F5 -110 10 units
F5 -.5 +130 10 units

Good point. Normally I would be all over that, but not with the Cubs. They are the ultimate public fools gold.

Bryant profiles as Troy Glaus. That might even be his ceiling. Hate his swing with the big loop. He's young enough that he can be fixed to some degree, but I think even at peak powers we are looking at a .250 ish hitter with 30-35 hr. Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Pujols, etc, this guy is not. Anyone who says his approach (and I can't believe they repeat this) is to hit 4 fly balls every game and hope one goes out is getting some really bad instruction or is just an idiot. Hard to know which one.

So you like the over more than the side? Surely the cubs can win one in the series.... Great playoff run! Thank you!

Cheers buddy.

Not sure it matters - I played what I posted, so you can see the investment. I like playing them together here actually. Playing the Cubs with Hammel on the mound alone is too scary to me to not also play over.

Gun to my head, I probably like over better, but I have more on Cubs so...

Good luck!

Especially if Cubs have to throw it right over the plate to get a call...

I did feel that way last game. Hammel is just a joke for a playoff starter.

Epstein is probably kicking himself for not making any moves at the deadline - he didn't think cubs were legit contenders bc cards were running away with the division and he didn't want to sell the farm this year

Colon is probably better at baseball than I will be at anything in my life - but man, is he a bad looking dude lol.

And at this point, aside of Latroy Hawkins, maybe no one else id rather see with someone who has money on the Cubs

You had this one right of the bat with that total! Can't win them all. Will be interesting to see Cubs with the pressure next year. This year was like a free roll - I actually thought it was great chance to steal a championship with low pressure. Won't be this easy again.

Thoughts on Price -135 Ventura?

I have no clue for this one. Kind of lean Price but I overall don't trust Jays and I really don't trust Price. So I don't know why I lean this way. Pretty stupid.
