Plick n Play... Spreadshet plicks, Wk 9

Maybe it's Prick n Pray for this week? ... . Whatever... here's whats up for this weekend according to my trusty, spreadsheet. -

Sorry to say that the ratings are coming out kind of weird for this week; just don't look like they used to. TRUST ME ON THIS -> I checked and RE-checked for any glitches and there are none whatsoever. The sheet reports 3 different ratings (LONG story; basically it's 3 different methods it uses to make the ratings). I track them carefully and when I'm confident about which TWO of them are working this season.. those are the 2 that I use to come up with the "No Play", "Weak Play", "Solid Play" and "STRONG PLAY" rating. i only post the Strong and the best of the Solids and those are the ones I play as well.

So far, I ran 25 mutha jumpin games and it only has 4 postable picks. Should have at least 7 or even more? I just doesn't like the schedule for this week.

Since it looks like it may be slim pickings this week, I'm gonna post them here early since there's more interest in this thing than I originally thought there would be. I HOPE I can add a few after running about a dozen more games. I'm going bonkers over hear, manually feeding the dang thang data :dizzy:

Oklahoma St. -12 1/2 : Say wha??? Did that spread move/LEAP or what? I'm not too excited bout this plick anyway. I'm not familiar at all with Okie St. since most of their scoring machines graduated and only a little with I.S. ; no way am I giving that many pts. or gonna mess with such a line move.

Missouri -3: that's more like it, I THINK.

Fresno St. -8: ANOTHER one that the line moved against me, Big TIme. SOB. I may still bite on this SHEET pick. Shoulda got it when the Sheet spit this one out.

Thanks a lot to the remaining PLAYERS that replied to my Week8 post Just couldn't reply to them cause I wasn't gonna shoot that "old" thread to the top on this listing AGAIN :s2: (if ya know what I mean).

I'LL BE HONEST JIMBO, I THOUGHT THIS WEEK LOOKED LIKE IT WOULD BE A VERY SELECTIVE WEEK AS MANY GAMES JUST DON'T JUMP OUT TO ME LIKE THEY HAVE IN WEEKS PAST. MIZZOU IS A TEAM THAT I JUMPED ON EARLY THIS YEAR AND NOW THEY ARE GETTING THE RECOGNITION BUT MAYBE NOT THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE. DEPENDING ON WHAT SC TEAM SHOWS UP SAT I THINK IT WILL BE A TOUGH CONTEST AND THE 3 PT SPREAD IS PROBABLY A SOLID LINE...I AM GOING TO KEEP RIDING THAT HORSE UNTIL IT THROWS ME OFF....GL THIS WEEK AND KEEP PUMPING OUT THE INFORMATION :0074

I'm gonna write my thoughts at the bottom about BC for ALL you COMMUNICATORS (which is what I had hoped this forum is all about. Thanks).


Giambi Juice, I think you may have pulled the cream of the crop asfaras SS plicks go. Was I seeing things when the line I copied from the opening line for Fresno was -5? I DO/DID feed the SHEET the spread (-5) and it does take that into consideration. BUT, it heavily weighs the other factors much more so and that's the part that took me seasonS to get it to do that. If I fed it again with the line of -8 I'm pretty sure it would still like Fresno cause it got very high ratings with "-5".

Wild Bill, Hmmm... I think I'm gonna do a little "speacialized" figuring ( ) on those unbeaten teams and just maybe figure out which one or two has the best chances of getting knocked off their perch. I guess that means a shot at a nice, big, FAT Money Liner that I can go light on? Oh yeah, I do like the possibility that the streak has ended for at least one of them. Thanks for the heads up.

I think the SS dat means "Spreadsheet" from now on (I couldn't even it get the sbelling of it right in my title) finally came up with one that appears to be one it's underdog (money line?) WIENERS! Thems a team that has been kind to the bettors but not so much to themselves so far this year. I think that's not good cause it sez the oddsmaker has a good reading on the team. I really like the fact that they did show what they can do (I guess when things go right for them?) when they played FSU. The SS and ME are real believers in FSU, REAL believers. I watched that BC/FSU game and was very impressed how well BC played and now the SS picksem.

The downside? .. Well, they looked terrible in there first away game vs. a team that me and the SS think are not as good as their nos./stats, USC. They DID pick it up away a bit in their last vs the Tigers. but they show that they like to play in their place much more. Sat's game is away for BC.

Good luck and don't let the SS throw you off something you like a lot.. the Sheet knows how to lose too.

Go figure.

Well with 10 teams left undefeated, only 4-6 games max left for all these teams, it will create a nice discussion among the BCS and new Bowl Playoff Committee for sure if all 10 go undefeated, but we all know that ain't gonna happen, but if 4 or 5 go undefeated, it's going to make a lot of media wave news.

I like Mizzou to win at home, mostly because the weather, travel spot for S Car going into Columbia and Hauck is a pretty good QB, and they have some good RBs, the Tiggers do. Should be an entertaining game for show in the show-ME state!!

I actually prefer to only play 2-3 games on a Saturday. Since doing so, I have had much more success than when I play more games than I can count on my fingers and toes!! It seems like guys that play a boatload of games are usually lucky to break .500 winning pct. And then you get hammered with juice and it just aint worth it for me. Even though I do like the action as much as the next guy!!

I do play the strip tickets at work and always play a 4 team for NCAA and a 4 team for NFL. Then for shits and giggles I play a 10 team ticket. I have hit a 4 team ticket two weeks in a row now thanks in a big way to Jimboski's spreadsheet. I am sort of glad that there are no more picks coming this week as I am heading to the mountains and am not sure what sort of phone reception there will be?? I do know that this is the first thread I look for when I get on M.J and am sorry if I start to clutter it up as it gets me excited when the sheet and myself agree on a game.

I already pussed out on B.C and am only playing Fresno from the sheet this week! Hope they stay undefeated and cover in the process!!

I am also playing Ohio State with all that chalk vs P.S.U. Funny thing about that is that I will be in Penn State country this weekend and have grown up following the Nit.Lions! This will be the first time that I make a big play against them as I have this bad gut feeling that they get creamed by the buckeyes! Thinking that they partied up a storm the last two weeks after beating Michigan the way they did. Ohio State will be ready for them and will not hold back one bit!

Well, I've done well with sucker bets despite what the pros. say about parlays. Generally play only one or two in addition to a couple of regular, single linespread plays. So far...

One stinkin unit on this 3 teamer; it's 1 stinkin unit WINS 6 1/2 units. BTW, it has the only baseball bet that I made in TWO years just because I opened my big mouth and mentioned to a buddy that I think St. Louis will win the Series on the day we found out that it would be Red Sox vs. St. Louis). Now I keep thinking to myself that I said that.

Giambi_Juics, good luck with your NFL plays. i wish I had some luck with them NFL bastages. I cannot tellya how many times I'd add one last play on a 3 college teamer parlay to make it a 4 teamer. I purposely make it a "slam dunk" type play.. you know like "Peyton/Denver just beating on Indy" last week to make it a 4 teamer. I posted that 4 teamer last week.. and just like what happens WAY too often --> the the 3 college plays cover and the mutha jumpas (NFLers) LOSE their freakin game. I knew I should have insured that parlay with a play on Indy, M.L., but just couldn't bare to do it.

Just an update -

Wouldn't ya know it... . . . the SS play we all (?) ignored pulled off a pretty EZ cover.

I did jump the Missouri @ -3 Spreadsheet pick.

I'm thinking that, in weeks when it only has 4,5,6 strong rated picks, it just might not be a bad idea to just play each separately. Maybe even as each game starts, if possible, so that you can jump off this gravy train whenever you feel you did good enough for the day.

Just a thought.

Seen enough of BC. No excuses, but I was a little surprised at the SS going for that one. Among a lot of other stuff, it's programmed to give some extra credit to well BALANCED teams and BC is NOT balanced (very poor passing game but very good running game). I still liked the play but was worried bout them being a poor away team. I gave them a pass on that score since they held up so/so vs. Clemson away in their last game.

The SS got sooo complicated that I don't know who it's going to pick. I kind of like it that way.

Similar to what you're doing, LP... gonna initiate "Plan B" ( ). That calls for enough on Mizzou to make it a worthwhile day. I'm not a big bettor so that's no problem. No 3 figure bets for me :nono:; ; history tells me that doing that, for me, means this thing goes in the deep fryer for sho.

Now, if that doesn't work... then it's plan "DEEP POOPIES". That one would be --> enough on Fresno to break even for the day.

For this forum, these are only sharing my personal plays but the RECORD is ONLY for the Spreadsheet picks which is what these threads are all about.

I lucked out by making very few plays and, to tellya the truth, I almost played NOTHING at all AND that wouldn't have bothered me either. Well, maybe the BC game and that one was the worst one of all. That "DEEP Poopies" game (Fresno) never went into effect cause the Missouri game was still being played when Fresno started. Here's how I work it --> IF things looked very bad for Missouri near the end of their game, then I play Fresno. But that certainly wasn't the case.

I'm gonna report the SS performance for this week at 1-2 and let anybody who can sit through the rest of this BORING as all hell Fresno game know the final report. This game puts me to sleep.

UT.. WTF.?

I got the tv on and did you see how Fresno just scored this touchdown that put them up 29 - 14?

What a day - Missou game (UGH!), how bout that WORLD SERIES finale?, this Fresno fiasco (what a half ass football game)... anything elss? And we put moola on this stuff. :0039

Good thing days like this don't happen too often though cause the the guys with the white suits will be looking for us.

BTW, they're still going wacko in that Fresno game. Game makes no sense whatsoever. Can you believe it's now tied at 28 - 28 as I'm writing this. First 3 quarters were absolute DULLSville. I just turned the dang thang OFF. Asfaras i'm concerned the SS gets a -2 for picking EITHER team in this game ... AND.. I'd give it a +2 for it's Missouri pick.
