Headin' to the hills on a beautiful day here in NorCal, so I will get these in early with a small card in bases on Thursday. I've decided to go with a team I very seldom play in the Seattle Mariners. The Angels are just (9-15) on the Road TY, while the Mariners are (9-9) at Home TY and evenmoney. Haren (1-5; 4.37) has pitched well in the past vs the Mariners and is (10-5) against them with a 2.60 ERA & a nice 1.16 WHIP, but he is off to a poor start TY at (1-5) & is (1-2) on the Road TY with a 4.63 Road ERA. VARGAS (5-3; 3.34) has pitched well TY with a (5-3) record that could be even better if Seattle had got him some runs. At Home, he is (2-0) w/ 1.27 Home ERA & in two of his three starts against the Angels last year, he went 7 scoreless IP and 6 scoreless IP and will face an Angel's team this year that is one of the lowest scoring teams in the majors. I've always been a Danny Haren backer, but I've decided to take a shot with JASON VARGAS, who not only has pitched very well at Home TY but also has a 2.39 ERA in 10 appearances vs LAA. The Angels on the Road TY vs LH-starters are just (2-6) & (3-9) in their L12 on Road vs lefties & (5-10) overall TY vs lefties. Seattle does have a winning record at Home vs RH-starters at (7-6). The Mariners took two of three from the potent Texas Rangers and have now won five of their last six games, and their pitching staff has allowed just 14 runs over their past six games. They remain Home a Safeco Field where they are (5-1) in the L6 vs RH-starters .. GO MARINERS !!!!
HOMER ALERT .. playing the SF Giants, who are (5-1) in their L6 @ Miami. (5-0) in Vogelsong's L5 starts on 4 days rest. FISH are (0-4) in Sanchez' L4 starts vs a team w/ a winning record. For you UNDA playas .. UNDER is (7-0) L7 meetings between Fish & Giants.
