poker hand i had today

blinds $25/$50

fold to me in mid position i have KK and make it $150. i get called by the button and the BB.

flop come Q74 rainbow. BB checks, I bet $400, button folds and BB makes it $1200.

how do you play this hand?

I would play it out.

He's on a high pair ace kicker or hit a mid pair set on flop.

we've only played 1.5 orbits. everybody is about even, with $7000 +/- a couple hundred.

she's mid forties, well dressed and hasn't played a hand yet. i have about $6400. she's a little timid.

Tournament. Probably reraise and if he comes over the top I'm beat and I minimize my loss.

Cash Game - I fold. Cause he probably has a set.
but it really depends on the player if he's tight or loose. Outside chance he has A/Q or KQ.

In my opinion, he probably has KQ and is raising with top pair and he thinks best kicker because you're raise was only 3X.

He may have QQ then your fcked. But I'd pay to see that.

Girle's would slow play that.

May have 444, A/Q or K/Q

you can't call.....that's your worst option because barring a K on the turn your still faced with the same decision on the turn.

raising to 3k is your best bet if you can fold to a reraise which you should.

pushing is awful because in most spots only a hand that beats you is calling.

folding is ok for a nit like you, but if you are actually trying to win and accumulate chips and not just grind to the money than reraise and fold to a push. you will still have 3k left which is 60 big blinds.

i was going to wait until later to post what happened but i have some things to do so will post it now.

i just didn't think the whole hand out. lesson learned. i reacted way too quickly.

i know i'm not gonna call, it's either raise or fold and i didn't think out the amount of raise like bdb recommended. that was the correct play.

a call would have been better than what i did because she would have gotten me off the hand on the turn with a large bet, for sure.

anyway, i immediately put her on AQ without even thinking the possibility of her having 44 or 77. i did think QQ but she would have raised preflop with that. so i went from QQ to AQ and possible KQ and *I* pushed.

she insta called with 44 and sent my dumb ass home.

but jack, I probably would have done the same thing you did. I am very agressive early in tourneys... IMO its the only way to win one OR get the deck thrown in your face, which seldom happens to me.

Without reading on, I would most likely go all in. Hard to say, would have to see the guy/girl, what are they wearing, how have they played, what's you reputation, etc. Chip counts? Do you have plenty left? He prob has Q-7 suited or some crap.

when i was in my BB i had AA and it happens to me all the fkin time. folded all around :mj07:

the other hand i played, i lost about $400 (? i forget) with AT to AJ with the board showing AKQ63

I definetely re-raise her and if she comes over the top i throw my hand away. I put her on a set if she would of come over the top or A-A.
