put it another way, marine and bdb.

you just bought in for 10k into the ME and the same thing happens 1st hand.

what do you do then?

fold.

I make a living playing cash games.....so I'm far from a tournament expert. I don't play many, but played a few sunday millions, etc. low stake buy ins.

It's an instant call online and imo with no reads a call live. His range is AK, AT, AA, AQ, AJ, QQ, QJ and 10 10, and even air. To say different against a player with no reads is silly.

And what difference does it make if its the main event or a 2 dollar indian casino early morning they supply the coffee and donuts tournaments. You should play every tournament the same in accordance with blind structures. If you play scared you ain't going to win anything. Deep in a tournament with some kind of read of course you can lay it down, but to lay it down on the first hand of any tournament is wrong. Dead wrong getting 2.5 + on your money to some random.

But what do i know.

Irrelevant. Completely different tourney structure and chip counts. In this scenario, calling to see the turn becomes an option as well as folding.

Live tourney:

Is this a joke? There is no discussion here IMO, not in a short stack tourney like this. LOL!!!

Even Hellmuth insta-calls here. Anyone who says they would fold is FULL OF SHIT. Even if you think you should fold, which is wrong, you couldn't follow through.

Online tourney:

All in, see you're beat, break your mouse, log onto Redtube, Jack off, kick the dog, hiit the bong, go to bed.

Hope that helps

:iagree: but not w/ kicking the dog. I like dogs.

jeezuz... do you only play suited aces or something?

too early in the tourney and he told you before the flop he had a good hand when he raised. I play on the conservative side as I do in all aspects of my life.

So you only raise when you have a good hand? Can't win at Poker without bluffing...

not so much bluffing, but I know when I made the switch from limit games to no limit games the biggest challenge I had was that I played a very tight game in limit.

In NL it took me about a year to finally force myself to be able to push my stack in on a big draw. Once I was able to get over that mental hurdle, its been gogogogogogo

I pretty much only play limit(90% of the time), and I play tight until there are 3 or less players left( in a ring game that is) then its balls out.

Agree that it is very difficult to switch between the two; my no-limit playing is in my home game and an occasional multi-table tourney on line.

You don't show your cards here. I'm assuming donk-d-donk would have turned over his 3 ladies and made a comment. You say nice hand and move on.
