Did I say something that isn't true?

Not sure how you can have a discussion about "political judges" without mentioning the most glaring case of judicial activism in the history of this country.

Your dancing again--or trying to rewrite history

The way I see it-your liberal judges were axed and your liberal appeals is pandering to illegals--again

The below are facts

It was a surprise to many-- and a shock to media liberals-- when three judges on Iowa's Supreme Court were voted off that court in the same recent elections in which a lot of politicians were also sent packing.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled that Arizona does not have a right to require proof of citizenship before someone can vote. Where does it say that in the Constitution?

Now your turn--where did Sowell misrepresent the truth?

Save us the dance --or speculation of Demoines Register-

-just highlight the lines where Sowell distorted the truth.

You see thats my prob--your once again trying to hide the facts of your liberal judges getting canned and liberal court pandering to illegals-- with Demoine Register poll of 803 people that has very little do with it.

Lets see --Little Johnny comes out of class not having clue about historical events--judges fired/ 9th district pro illegals--but does have the #'s on Demoines registers 803 person poll.
:nooo:

He quotes Sowell, because he's a black conservative writer, and he thinks he gets bonus points for promoting a conservative opinion from a black person.

Now to your point Wayne, I see you only hold me accountable for presenting the "full story" in my classroom, and yet don't hold Sowell accountable for presenting the full story of that election and law ruling in his written OPINION. I have to present both sides whether it's on point or not, but Sowell doesn't? And you think you are being fair, complete, and objective?

I'm dodging nothing. The judges were voted out. Sowell's OPINION (not fact) was that this was mainly due to Iowans being upset because of the activism of the judges, and public opinion in Iowa (and in most states) is not strong on the issue of gay marriage and was probably not a big issue in their being voted out. He said nothing that showed that it was, other than his personal opinion on why it happened. How is that a fact? It's not. I wasn't dodging, I was pointing out how his OPINION was not based on anything tangible other than Americans in general voting democrats out. Maybe if he'd shown something specific - again - other than his personal opinion, maybe that could be considered a FACT.

You are focused on the Constitution with the illegals issue, making that a big deal. Where does it say in the Constitution that marriage is only between a man and a woman? Or is that a state issue? Believe you're a big believer in that, right? Where does it say in the Iowa constitution that marriage is only between a man and a woman?

Just because you (and Sowell) don't AGREE with a judges ruling, doesn't necessarily mean it is activism. I notice you didn't comment on the Supreme Court ruling which ignored multiple court rulings upholding control over Corporate donations, and determined with no previous rulings of law that Corporations had the same rights as an individual, in fact, there were rulings against that. THAT ruling DID rewrite existing interpretations and court rulings - AND the constitution.

Tell me, without avoiding it - do you think the Supreme Court ruling was activism - and if not, why not compared to these other rulings? Or do you need to wait for an article from Sowell or Krauthammer to give you an OPINION? I've explained why I answered your question the way I did - based on your previous expectations of me as a teacher. You don't feel the need to prove anything using those same requirements. And so it goes...

Lighten up, Chad. Pointing out facts and expecting reasoned thought from doggie will make you crazier than Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Doggie has no need for facts and reason, he's got faith.

How did you miss this--

Fact of the matter is Sowell brought to light 2 unusual "factual events" in elections.

You tried and are still trying to skirt the issues (rewrite history) with pathetic attempt to point to poll of 800 people like it trumps the vote of the people and-

You got a really keeper there on the 92%--I'd be right in there with the 92% as doesn't effect me either--but has squat shit to do with judges getting axed for trying to over ride "we the people".-Is a comparison only a certified liberal could draw.

If you are this defensive on my pointing out the obvious--I would assume I'd get failing grade as your student--and the little -trench-tramp-muff-scott would all get A's for their continuous support and similar values--so they could grow up and fight for that gov tit as they do now.

--however as peace offering to all --with coming holiday season--if you all forward address to me I will send copy of your bible in time for Christmas :)

Yep. We'd all understand how the rule of law works, and you'd be marching with your fellow klansmen, advocating mob rule.

A's for us and a big fat F for you, richly deserved.

Saaaaay, isn't that doggie, third in line?

Hey Dogs, how about 5 conservative judges on the Supreme Court overriding the vote of 48.4% of the American voters in 2000 and handing the election to the guy that got 47.9% of the vote?

For a guy who's so offended by judicial activism, your outrage is awfully selective.

Just more of the same tired old neocon shuffle you've been doing in here for the past decade.

Well, as usual, we disagree on the actual points of the issue, Wayne. He does point out two unusual factual events. MY point is, Sowell is offering his opinion about why it happened, and I give you common sense reasoning why it didn't happen the way he says it did happen. His OPINION is not fact. My OPINION is not fact, but it's based on common public opinion in any value system on the issue Sowell is offering as a reason. My point in this (as I've said THREE times now), you expect me to explain both sides of every issue to students, and Sowell is not doing that AT ALL in his OPINION column that you are using as some kind of factual representation of a situation. I don't know if he distorted the truth or not but I do know he is presenting A PERSONAL OPINION about why some kind of truth he is presenting occurred. He has nothing to back it up, no reasons for it other than his opinion. You mention the 92% not giving a shit, agreeing personally that you don't give a shit, and then expect people to think that the 92% made this issue the real reason they voted out judges? You just can't make up this kind of "logic," I swear.

I'll stop there. My point continues to be made, you don't have to accept it.
