Ferdville the problem i see with this. You have recall. You have a winner other then Davis. Someone with deep pockets starts another recall. And as I understand it can be done over and over.
It seems like why have election to start with. Just have recalls.
I agree with you i dont much like Davis. The process I like even less. One good thing that may come form this is ideas. You have many common folks running. And some will have good ideas that coulde be good for Calf and maybe the USA.

djv,

i agree 100% with the above quote.

this recall sets a bad precedent for future recalls. people should have to live with the results of an election.

Whether you like the recall or not, it is spelled out as an option under California law. Maybe this will lead to revocation of the law, but right now it is the law. Since this has occuured rather infrequently in the last 100 years, I don't find it that troubling. The possee of lunatics that have forked over $3500 is what bothers me more. Davis has an approval rating of 20% with the voters of California. That is the lowest rating of any politician that I have ever seen or heard of. Nixon's approval rating was about 30% before he resigned. In addition, Davis's lies during his campaign were a factor in his election. A week before the election he claimed the budget deficit was about $8 billion. A week after he was elected he said it was really almost $30 billion. This was a bald faced lie that helped him get elected.
