Well, they ARE part of the bread. For my father......they were his favorite. NO ONE else dared to eat the heels of the loaf!

I just find them too thin to be productive for a sandwich, etc. I toss them.

I definitely don't use them for a sammich but I like them with a little butter.

They're for the birds... literally. Or the dogs get them. They don't kick up too much of a fuss when it comes to the heels.
