You are right next to Atlantic Station. If you live in that area your daily traffic will not be a problem at all.

I moved to Nashville from Atlanta.

I "liked" Atlanta, but I never could "love" Atlanta.

If you enjoy large city (not NYC/LA/Chicago) living, then Atlanta is fine. Normal things to do for that size city.

One thing Atlanta does really well for social scene is outdoor events.

I was one of the co-founders of one that is still going strong now.

If you are flying into Atlanta airport to check it out be ready to walk, A LOT. That place is huge and not laid out all that well. You need to enjoy walking, then sitting in traffic.

A large selection of crack and chicken shacks is all I remember from Atlanta. It was some time ago though. I like Matt Ryan and Roddy White too.

Hope this helps,

:welcome: :00x3 :0071 :banghead: :cursin: :s1: :mj16: Everyone in Atlanta makes a minimum of 40 grand. It's that , or you are on welfare. A friend bragged to me once about making 40 grand in Atlanta, and this is what I told him.

My boss had a talk with me today. They are restructuring our HR Department in the coming year and he's interested in relocating me to our Atlanta office for me to become the office administrator. So what are the pros and cons here? I know there are several folks that can weigh in. I'd love to hear from you. I like Charlotte but I'm not married to the idea of being there long term. And I think that may be the case with Atlanta too.

All of this just got dropped in my lap this afternoon so I'm in the beginning stages of processing it all. Let me know what you all think.

why does your boss hate you?.....you`re a wonderful guy,imo.....:toast:

Midtown is nice, used to be awesome back in the day. Check out Brother Junipers and Mary Mac's for good eats. Ansley Park is a nice neighborhood and Ansley Golf Club is a little known private club that is really nice. Concerts at Chastain Park are decent and trendy. If you ever get a chance to play golf at Peachtree Golf Club, it's as good as Augusta National. Would not live in midtown, though, I'm too hetero for midtown. Check out Roswell or Alpharetta, or even May-retta over midtown. Crime has to be higher in midtown than the places I mentioned. As others have said, the traffic sucks.Enjoy Atlanta, I grew up there and left 20 years ago with no regrets.

I would make the move. If your going to work in Atl I would not live in Alpharetta or Marietta or the commute would be hell.

Crime is no worse than any other big city with 4 million.

Everyone talks about traffic but its really not that bad if you know how to get around. I seldom sit in traffic as I know all the shortcuts to get anywhere in 30 min or less. First note is 285 makes a big circle around metro and I - 20 runs thru the middle east to Augusta and west to Alabama.

A lot of woman and clubs in midtown if that is your thing. Lots to do for free too.

Let me know and I will take you around and show you the short cuts. It has only taken me 40 yrs to learn.

I would agree with the living areas as far as commute time. Depends what time you go in to work and home from work.

And, PLEASE take him up on this. That would be worth the cosideration of moving alone, to spend a couple days in front of his computer using google maps, because we know he doesn't show his face in public.

I have the last week of September off if you are going to be around and available. Hope you hit them well:toast:

Sounds great! Give me specific dates and we will make it happen. Sept 14th we have our Club Championship Nick, so can't golf but definitely want to see you for dinner and watch some football if you want.

Then drive North, what's stopping you? Personal interaction phobia? You are a tool and as always, all talk.

Going to the Grant Park Festival now, so have a good day on your computer.

Sorry Bart, my offer stands, but didn't realize you and Scottyboy already have a rendezvous scheduled.
