Thank you thats my point exactly, especially since I certainly wouldnt trust any of you to hold the money, no offense. Meeting someone for 3 hours in a drunken stupor doesnt mean I now trust you to hold $600 of my cash. And if I havent met you there is no question. The amount was never the issue (other than Petey is really only putting up $100 and I am putting up $600, I guess by your posts most of you see that as fair) am I the only one who finds it unreasonable to pay up upon completion of the bet?

That will have to be Petey's compromise given that he is only really ponying up $100, his cronies $500 and I am putting up $600. That seems to be absurd odds, but I will play - regardless of the fact that my offer was any amount to him, not any amount to him and anyone else he could get to lend him money for the contest. Does everyone else see that as fair? I dont really care at this point.

My offer is on the table. If you want to turn it down thats your business. The bottom line is not disputable - I am fronting $600 to which you are only fronting $100 of your personal money right now - if you pay your friends back later thats your business but for right now you only are out $100 and I am out $600. That is not even in my book.

I would have been happy with $100 if it was between you and me but you had to take it too far and borrow $500 on your personal quest to badmouth/insult me and make me look bad. You are right we may lose equal amounts, but the difference is you may lose $600 but you dont have to pay that money back until 6-8 months from now whereas I am out that money right now. Why shouldnt this be equal? You dont even really care about who's the better handicapper.

Timewise, I think 6 months max as that will cover all football and college hoops and hockey although if we wanted to include the tourney we could.

Jack that is a good idea, but I already suggested it (for NFL) but he turned me down. Solves all the problems, we get an impartial body to rank plus we are still using our cash to make bets with.

Pete if you dont like compromise #1 (500 picks, $600 paid up at the end), #2 is you let me have a week to find 5 of my boys to cough up $100 each. I'm not going to do this knowing your sole purpose is to make me look bad when you have 5 backers and I have none.
