I mention this today as a call to all the fellas who visit this great site ..MadJack

I'm doing ok so there is no cause for alarm nor any atta boys or well wishes necessary.

But here it was you can face..

Flair up today of Chronic Prostatitis

been battling this stuff for almost 5 years now.

This flairup sent me to the emergency room because the pain was just to much for me.Keep in mind I have dealt w/the mess for years so the pain has to get REAL bad for me to go the emergency room route.

Both family and Specialist doc's told me via phone to go.

bent over double abdom and swell up of prostate to near wailing tears..nausea..chills..backache..and of course the infection to the bladder that usually comes about w/this cronic battle.

I have been checked twice a year[last 5 years] for cancer and never a postive result..last check included..so don't think the worse because it's not..

What it is though is a problem I have to deal w/the rest of my life.

got fluids and meds...another day to smile


PLEASE...ALL OF YOU...

IF ya haven't had your exam please do so..

NOT a day that goes by it seems like we see or read about a friend,a loved or some famous person suffering from pain and or worse that affect this portion of our body..


trust me when I tell ya...

get the test..quick..painless...

and just may save ya..from BIG PAIN in the years to come..

When do docs typically start the ol' finger check? I'm 30 and have a feeling my time is coming :sadwave:

I am on Flo-Max and have been for 19 months.

I get the finger every year and the Doc says "Sorry about that". I say if it saves one life it's worth it.

Damn it takes 3 seconds and may save your life!

hope you`re doing well,man....could your other meds have anything to do with it?...

i developed asthma and it pushed my b.p. up a little(having trouble breathing can do that)..i try not to take any meds,but occasionally,i take some inhaler.......the asthama is infrequent..i have no idea about what triggers it...


the meds the doc prescribed for b.p. messed with my prostate...i went off em and the prostate got much better...

when you hit around 50,most guys start having prostate issues...it goes with the territory...

i get a psa done every year...

took a long time to get the right combination.


winter is the worst..

lotta sit around..

60 this fall so have been dealing w/a few of the older guy stuff for a little while.

mulching..prunning..soon so will be active again.

then spring...:slomo


only cost 10.00 co/pay for Doctor so I get the body checked out ..

blood test 4 times a year.
while seeing GP
the other twice..:142smilie a year.

Last time I had a prostate exam when I was in college after lots of rough sex. I think the fact that I was wearing a rubber and that she was a biter didn't help. I know TMI.....

a digital prostate exam isn`t all that bad unless you notice that your doctor has both his hands on your shoulders....

I just go by the blood test :shrug:

I was told they would check my PSA if that was fine, no exam until 50. PSA was ok.

I would suggest to everyone to ask for one at 40 years of age with a PSA test,, If fine then just do blood work every year, I know some docs suggest 50 but I had a buddy who was 38 go in for a physical and he had to demand to be tested. PSA level was elevated and they were able to catch it in time.. If he would of waited,, he would probably be dead or battling death today.

I would suggest getting one as well. I have had prostatitis before and let me tell you I have never felt pain like that before in my life. My legs went numb sometimes and I had a pain in my back and waist like never before. Meds took care of it.

I even had a female Dr. massage my prostate once while I had prostatitis. Yea that was fun, as soon as she touched it I nearly pinched her finger off and let out one loud ass scream.

What's the deal everyone think it's gay or something? :shrug:

I guess no one has ever had a girl stick her finger up your ass while she is giving you a blow job?

I've had one, and it hurt like a mf! :scared It doesn't seem "gay" at all to me; it just hurt!

Prostatitis can really get you down if untreated. Lots of time it even presents similar to the flu. Sometimes they can only diagnose it after a prostate massage like neverteaseit mentioned.

The father of one of my friends had it a few years back. It took them almost 3 weeks to figure out why he was so sick and had no energy. Prostatitis. bw, Old School!
