NDnation site says he was caught cheating. They say he was behind on his course work and panicked....sad. Unfortunately some kids just can't handle the workload of university at certain institutions.

One strike and you're out at ND. Other places, it's more than 10. These type of self-imposed restrictions are just part of being Notre Dame.

Go Irish! Get 'em Tommy!

Golson has made comments that make it seem like he wants to return to ND and will be able to in another year. Any truth in that or is it just another ND football player not be truthful to the media?

It certainly looks like he will be enrolled winter 2014 to be eligible for fall 2014 and have 2 years eligibility left.

Yep you nailed it. LSU gave Tyran how many chances and it kept blowing up in their face every extra chance they gave him.

Google not working?

You follow this stuff more than I do

I was told not to believe everything put on the internet, that sometimes they report false stuff, and attack young kids who were innocent and really not at fault.

I like to judge, just want to judge the proper people for the right reasons.

Good clean cut bunch at ND......

Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees was released from jail on $250 bond late Thursday afternoon after being charged with four misdemeanors as a result of his arrest early Thursday morning at an off-campus house party, St. Joseph County police spokesperson Sgt. Bill Redman said.

Rees faces four misdemeanors: minor consumption, two counts of resisting law enforcement and battery. He initially was jailed on a preliminary felony charge of battery on a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest and alcohol charges.

With the felony charge reduced, a potential imminent expulsion from school no longer looks like a possibility for Rees. The school's disciplinary code states that if a student is charged with a felony, Notre Dame "reserves the right to take summary action and temporarily dismiss the student."

Linebacker Carlo Calabrese also was arrested, for disorderly conduct, and has since been released from jail after posting $150 bond, South Bend police Capt. Phil Trent said.

Trent said Rees was among about five people who jumped a backyard fence and ran after officers arrived at the party, located at 716 N. Notre Dame Ave.

Trent said when the officer, Brandon Stec, caught up with Rees, the 19-year-old raised his knee into the officer and they both fell in a scuffle, leaving Stec with a bloody right arm when he hit the pavement.

Rees continued "thrashing around and resisting," according to Trent, at which point Rees was subdued with pepper spray and placed in handcuffs. Trent said Rees continued to resist and pull away from officers.

Trent said that Calabrese tried to intervene by explaining who Rees was. When Calabrese realized it was to no avail, the linebacker threatened an officer, saying, "My people are going to get you," according to Trent.

Every program has a problem each year.......that is life with 18-22 year olds.....lets be realistic, all of us at that age made mistakes, now these guys are kings of the campus so a few more mistakes happen than to the average univ. kid. Sure ND had 2 kids drunk last year in public.....its the programs with kids that never learn from their mistakes where I believe the problems lies, like Tyran at LSU.....sorry just an easy example.

But the programs with kids that do stuff out of control in terms of breaking the law are the ones that bother me, sexual assault.....break and enter, selling drugs, these are beyond stupid mistakes. Look at the TCU kids last year, its everywhere, some programs cover it up better than others.

Here is one easy story to pull up, these type of examples are at so many of the major programs.

Rees was outside drinking at a friends house at a party the cops busted. One of south bends finest screamed out in glee "we got the quarterback!!" He hopped the fence and was chased down by several officers and as the officers stated, lifted his right knee into an officers chest in manner that ?wasn't terribly violent, but it was enough to be considered resisting"

For that drunken transgression, Rees was suspended for a game and lost his starting role for notre dame.

He made a bad decision and was left to suffer the consequences. Such is life at notre dame. Go irish!

Underage drinking, fleeing from a busted party, .... All things I did at 19.

Homerism to a pathetic degree. He was arrested for a felony after drawing blood during the arrest.
