How's this Scooter:
Fact:
Notre Dame has only won 3 games against teams with a winning record, and only one of those was on the road.
:scared :scared :scared
Auburn has beaten two top 15 teams, ND has not.
Fact:
Auburn has prettier cheerleaders.
Facts:
I am 27. I live WITHOUT MY PARENTS in a 2-story lakefront home. My fiancee and I are about to build a new home at a newly built RTJ golf course here in B'ham (Ross Bridge). I work for a very successful marketing firm, and I drive a brand new SUV.
And I get called a Lost Hillbilly by a guy who lives at home with his mommy. :s4:
Guess what? I'm 25 and have a townhouse with my girlfriend in Hoboken. I am an ND alum and go seton hall law school right now. Not sure what this has to do with football, but dont think your sh$t doesnt stink because you live on a pretty dairy farm down south with your girlfriend Betsy :mj07:
Anyway, college football is about TIMING, always has been. Both ND and Auburn have 2 losses, but Auburn's second loss came AFTER ND's second loss
ADVANTAGE: ND
SOS, you keep raving about Auburn beating two top 15 teams. At the end of the day, after Georgia loses the SEC title game, and Alabama's downward spiral is complete, neither of those teams will be in the top 15. My point? You cant base SOS on where team's were ranked "when you beat them". Based on that argument, ND scheduled THREE BCS teams from last season. Hmmm Auburn only played one. Besides that, Purdue, MSU, Syracuse, and Tennessee all looked solid coming into the year. Not ND's fault those teams have suffered, AND WE HAVE LOW COMPUTER AVERAGES IN THE BCS WHICH ACCOUNT FOR THE WEAKNESS OF THOSE TEAMS COMPARED TO PRESEASON RANKING. My point? Mentioning your team's quality wins is a moot point, because there are PLENTY of allowances in the BCS and the POLLS to account for that. Dont double count. NO ADVANTAGE to anyone here.
If you want to talk SOS though, how about ball st. W. Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tulane, Temple?? Seriously, shut up man. Like ND, Auburn GOT its shot against a top 5 team in LSU, despite USC being hands down better than LSU, and they LOST. Already played a BCS calibur team and lost. Ohio state plaed Texas well and lost. ND played USC well and lost. All 3 teams had their shot at the top dogs and lost. If either team had won their respective shots, they would have a LEGITIMATE gripe about being left out of the BCS...But close doesnt count, and wins against OVERRATED teams like Alabama dont either
ND is not getting in because of $ and fan base. They are legitimately ranked higher, deservingly so. Throw in their fan base and entertainment value, and you have an ALL AROUND WINNER, as opposed to auburn who wouldnt even be in this discussion if not for a fluke play on 4th down against Georgia. ONE play doesnt make you a BCS squad pal.
