How many of us wish to earn/have enough money to be able to gamble each and every day and not give two shits if we have a losing week or two ?? Is that a gamblers paradise? Or a fools paradise ?? Lol

Players have to realize there?s an inherent streakiness in sports betting. Even the best bettors in the world go on cold spells and strong money management keeps you in the game to endure rough patches.

One has to be willing to accept mistakes and adapt or even replace a gambling investment model based on new data that you have researched.

Create a gambling budget and stick to it...have fun with this budget, don't let the budget make fun of you.

I am always learning or trying to learn these above traits from certain people at Pinnacle, and also Todd and Tommy.

Best of luck checkmate.

What I've found

What I've found

It has it's ups and downs and you better be prepared for the downs. When I was in grad school I ran a consignment business through an older friend who had a close out store and I would sell on ebay on the internet, and I gambled full time as well running a service. Paid for grad school that way. It was not easy, but those were some fun times. I was streaky and I would win A LOT and I would lose A LOT. It was difficult to send out picks to clients and have an audience beg you for them at the same time - early internet days - I'm slightly over 40 now. Before I found this site I gambled at a site called wager line, which was for the most part a posting board and I bet it's gone now. I would never do it again, (the tout part) but it made me $$$ when it counted.

I don't gamble for big stakes, so I can play every day if I wish.

+1 what IE said,

important part of the money management: no +10u plays of the year/decade/century

(and then chasing that lost bet...)

decide max bet of your budget and don't exceed that no matter how
good ravens/nyrangers should look tonight because of some irrational reason

i really don't wish i made my living from gambling, yeah you had good season,
how about 15-25 next ones ?

I only bet the NFL I don't gamble. I haven't lost in years. My system is proven.

38-15 so far this year.

Boys I try very hard to stay in your corner because you seem to be a nice guy in person. But to boast about a record that is based on a couple contest is kinda false & misleading . I really don't count a contest as wagering. Also you never post anything in the NFL forum. I don't understand. Maybe it's a male Armenian thing. I wish you luck.

You have incorrect information. I have two local books that I've dealt with for many years. I bet everyone I post in the three contest I'm in. So far today I'm 6-2 with Carolina pending. I suggest before you make a statement you get your fact straight.

If you count the Hippo & across the street you are 3-1 with Carol. pending. The question really is why don't you post your picks at this site NFL forum which is dedicated to gambling. I couldn't care less about your local books I'm sure Jack is happy that you spend your $$ elsewhere. So why do you hide your bets in contest ? I really question your record if you've been basing it on those 2 contest. I may be wrong but most of your picks are based on the top 4 Hilton consensus picks & you don't post across the street until those come out.
Please show me if I'm wrong.

IE,

I appreciate what you are saying, but dispute your comment as to the "inherent streakiness in sports betting". I used to think that a person could get hot or be on a roll and it appears, based on their recent record, to be that way. But after some thought, each game, each turn of the card or roll of the dice, has its own inherent chance of winning or losing. It knows no history.

There is no magic. One can study a game inside and out and yet the outcome is uncertain. Thats why, over the long haul, whoever has the odds in his or her favor will end up on the positive side.
