Certainly the situation in Louisianna will effect the game. It already has...venue change. However, my feeling is that the events surrounding Katrina will only serve to fire up LSU and increase their focus in a game that they now feel they must win. Maybe the line should have moved in the other direction!

Now this is a good post. . . maybe you're right and everything that has happened will fire up the team instead. I'll buy into that one and its certainly possible.

I just want everyone to understand something: I don't want to see ASU win. . . I don't like ASU and will never root for them. If LSU crushes them then all I have lost is my money on ASU which isn't that big of a deal to me! But ASU is in a damn good spot tonight and I can't see how anyone can deny it.

Good luck to LSU. . . prove me wrong and make me eat my words! I would be happy to even though my bankroll would take a little beating.

Nickel,

Nobody is saying you are wrong. hell i believe this is a BAD spot for LSU. I just dont believe the hurricane will affect this team at all and i still believe LSU has the better talent on both sides of the ball.

The Judge said:
Andrew Walter is gone and so is their "sophisticated passing attack".

Walter is gone but the system is still there. That is what makes the Pac 10 tough. When an offense is clicking, you can't stop it. Highly sophisticated passing attacks with exceptional QB play. BOOM a team can jump out to a 14pt lead. Keller is a very talented QB.

I want to take LSU badly but my fear is if ASU O is on their game, can LSU defend it? I don't think LSU is used to defending pac 10 caliber offenses. On flip side, ASU is not used to playing such a fast team like LSU who is also more talented. Might take a while to adjust.

Now I am thinking LSU will run the ball effectively with ASU being without some DL players. I dunno, tough game to cap. Maybe that is why Vegas has ASU -1. It looks real easy to take LSU and all their talent.

I think I am going to pass.

BTW, the hurricane tragedy won't have an effect on the outcome of the game. LSU players should be focused and prepared to play. No excuses. Even the LSU HC says that. In fact, I would argue it helps LSU more and unites them. After 9/11 didn't Syracuse kick Auburns A$$.

A part of me is also thinking tonight we find out why LSU and many other SEC teams don't travel for OCC. :)

These are the type of conditions, circumstances, fate, whatever you want to call it that seperates the "winners" from the "first place losers"

Now I know I am biased, but feel Les Miles will have L.S.U. ready,

Great depth with running backs and Russell should be up to the task.

As for D, they will be fired up and ready to play. Hurricane Katrina has no excuse on whether they are ready to play are not.

In fact, Katrina may help them MAKE A STATEME
NT and unfortnately, A state may pay the price :sadwave:

Looks like my concerns for LSU were correct. LSU and SEC fans are getting a good look at what offenses can do in the Pac 10. USC faces these offenses week in week out. That is why it is so difficult to run the table in the pac 10.

Whether LSU wins or not doesn't matter. ASU is not the clear cut #2 team in the Pac 10. LSU is the clear cut #2 or maybe #1 SEC team.

Its 10-7 ASU, and ASU has moved the ball well against LSU D. Isn't LSU supposed to have the #1 D in the SEC? Giving up 10pts 1h is actually very good D by LSU! But when USC D gave up pts in pac 10 play, it is considered weak or soft.

Is ASU D tonight weak? People will say it is weak when USC puts up over 40pts against them. "USC can put up 40pts against ASU but not against SEC teams." "USC has it so easy with their schedule in Pac 10" "USC plays nobody"

Well after the first half it appears that LSU's disadvantage is real. They have three or four dropped passes that would have kept drives alive and a twelve minute, 19 play drive and fumble inside the ten yardline. The LSU corner Prude isn't guarding anyone and the Arizona St. fans have sounded loud as hell on my bigscreen...Although it's anyone's game in the second half I certainly don't feel secure with my money behind the tigers tonight...guess that's what you get for drinking the kool aide like a true public shmuck...Geaux tigers :sadwave:

ASU offense is not that great. If Ronnie Prude would get his head out of his ass they wouldnt of scored. There running game is non existent. LSU too many penalties and too many dropped passes in 1st half. if im LSU im throwing deep one out of every 3 plays. Russell has the arm to throw deep and stretch the defense.

LSU is way better than ASU but that doesnt mean they will win the game.

The LSU WR corp is prob. top 3 in the country (talent wise). Problem is they are poorly coached. Run poor routes and can't catch the ball. = WORTHLESS. LSU QB made few great throws and resulted in drop balls. They did it last year and do it this year. No excuses. LSU might be ahead by 4pts if they catch the ball.

So if ASU wins the game, LSU is still better. . . geez. . . I guess the Pac-10 can't beat the SEC anyways right?

SEC is superior no matter what! Didn't you get the memo? USC is only team that east coast respects. (or knows that exists) All other west coast teams are CRAP!

One more thing. If USC was playing ASU and down 10-7 at half. EVERYONE would be saying how crappy USC is and how they are losing to a crappy pac 10 team. SEC teams would be blowing out USC. I guarantee that!

See, this is the type of b.s. that really gets to me. . . of course LSU's football team won't make any excuses but you will make plenty for them if LSU loses.

The better team always wins. . . its one game and the better team that day will win. Simple as that because that's the way college football is played. You can't cry or make excuses because its decided on the field. End of story.

Scott,

Not everyone is going to say that and USC will never be behind 10-7 at half. They are head and shoulders over every NCAA football team this year. USC will dominate and will be playing in the Rose Bowl this year.

P.S i wish i had some extra money for a future bet on USC.

Agreed Scott. . . The second USC looks vulnerable, its because they aren't that great of a team. . . yet when a team from the SEC looks vulnerable, they are still damn good (nevermind the fact LSU is dropping passes all over the place)

You are making an excuse for the better team not coming up with the 'W' which is complete bullshit IMO. The better team will win the game, that's just the way it goes.

Again, I only wish this game was played at LSU because there wouldn't be any excuses IF ASU happens to win. But I'm sure an SEC fan would come up with something
