quick-cap. the elimination process

stl/mil--eliminated--2 struggling teams. lean to mil without looking but not going to waste time on this one with all the games on today's card.

fla/mon--i hate taking mon but they have the edge with the starting pitching today and fla in a losing streak. i'll cap this game and will either bet mon or pass.

pit/cin--eliminated--not going to waste my time on these 2 flakey teams. although ritchie playing well lately (off the top of my head)

cub/met--reed a dog at home and 7 the total? i'll have to look at this game. thinking mets and over.

phi/atl--wow! philly a big dog. almost feel like taking them without looking but that would be stupid. i'll dig deep into this game.

ari/hou--schilling looks attractive here but will have to look closer at the game. another one to handicap.

col/sd--eliminated--2 struggling teams. pass

sf/la--maybe ANOTHER over? i'll have to look.

bos/cle--bos the dog here? i don't 'think' so but i'll look closer at the game.

nyy/bal--eliminated--christ! i feel like 'going' to this game, and MIGHT! my o's have a chance to make a move. not handicapping it.

kc/det--eliminated--ugly looking game. not wasting my time.

tor/tb--eliminated--another ugly one that i'm not wasting my time on.

min/cws--minny in a groove and look cheap at -130. i have to take a better look.

sea/tex--will look closer at taking sea. after last night the wind is definitely out of the rangers sails. they suck, period.

ana/oak-eliminated-not wasting my time.

i have 8 games left to handicap and the plays will be posted by 6:30. good luck!

you might want to take a look at your o's over the total tonight, jack. keisler a mediocre lefty at best, 6.84 era, 6.11 L3, 6.75 on the road. o's hitting .304 vs. lefties L10 and averaging 6.5 rpg against lefties at home this year. keisler's over 4 of 5 this year.
mercedes pitching better lately, 3.74 L3, but 5.58 for the year and 6.34 at home. got to think he's due to return to form. i have his starts over 8 of last 10.
by my count these two teams 15-5 to the over the last two seasons. on 6/7 these two teams played in ny with clemens and ponson starting and the posted total was 9. tonight it's 9- with keisler and mercedes? looks too low.

Don't be so quick to write off STL/MIL...
Wright has been tough lately, and Hermanson (besides his last) has been terrible.. have to wait for lineups to see who Mil is putting in outfield today... if no Burnitz, Jenkins, et al, it would be a no-play - with those guys it may be a nice play at a very small price...

I couldn't help but chuckle about your comments on the Rangers. I don't know if you caught it or not, but ESPN was doing about a five minute in depth story on Ichiro Suzuki at the exact time he took that wind out of the Ranger sails. I had Seattle for several dollars and couldn't believe the Rangers gave up a two out ninth inning homerun to Suzuki with a man at third. What in the world were they thinking?

When the Mariners tied the game ESPN used that to end their story on him. What an impact that little Jap is making on American baseball.
