Do you find it a little bit funny that you're praising your grandpa for a service that Hellah had to perform in the last year. If you believe in Bush's fight so much, maybe you can go enlist yourself, freeze and help further our "freedoms."

take a civics lesson genius and actually read what is required in the above.....

Hellah is getting paid to be on reserve....dr. freeze is not.....dr. freeze abides by the citizenship oath....dr. freeze will fight as require by law....if i violate that, then let me know....i am registered with selective service and to my knowledge they have not called me up....being a citizen not only involves fighting in a war, it involves certain other things....which are CLEARLY spelled out and evidently blantantly ignored by some people

here is a little breakdown.....

Voting REQUIRES citizenship

Citizenship REQUIRES an oath

Our oath DEMANDS loyalty and renounciation of interest in foreign countries...."I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen"

AND without "ANY mental reservation".....

words mean things

Doc why are you registered with selected service. Wait I think I know. But even if you are you do know how safe you are do you not. There is no draft so no one will be coming to find you. They would need one hell of a shortage of Doc's to bother you. And since you are still undesided. At least you were a few months ago what type of doc your gong to be. Not sure what they do with you. The way for you to serve know is sign up.
Mr Intense you just maybe right. We will have to wait after those next four years to see if your still so happy.

BobbyBlueChip only thinks that some people signed up to do a few weekends running some local maneuvers so that they wouldn't have to take out loans for college. And now they find themselves as sitting targets for revolutionary forces while our blueblood leader tells them to "bring it on!!!" BobbyBlueChip also thinks that you have the privilege of voting for politicians that benefit you personally and whatever groups you belong to. BobbyBlueChip doesn't think that dr.freeze has ever voted for a candidate that didn't have the interests of the descendents of Western European people at the forefront of their issues. So, in closing, BobbyBlueChip thinks that dr. freeze needs to either realize that dr. freeze is a hypocrite or dr. freeze needs to shut the f up.

Thanks again Hellah for doing the job that BobbyBlueChip, dr. freeze and George Bush wouldn't do.

What a crock of sh*t bluechip.

Hellah should be commended for his duty, but it was his choice to join the reserve and it clearly states that even the reserves are sworn to uphold the constitution etc etc whether it be doing local activity or going to war.

If they joined for what you mentioned, then shame on them if they don't want to serve their country when it really counts. They deserve what they got, because that is not what the reserves were meant for even though that's all they had to do in the past.

some people don't believe in what oaths or the constitution stands for ctown....they also think they know what other people "would do" and have no problem being that elitist....

oh well....some people never will learn what it means to be a citizen

On the course!
Marco......you have the best post in the entire bunch. Why the hell should I vote, if I don't like my choices?

First off, we live in a republic, not a democracy, as so many of you yap about.

So, according to your thoughts on this matter, if some yahoo with absolutely no understanding of what any candidate stands for, or opposes, votes for one of them, they are a patriot? They are "American"? Like the women who voted for Clinton because he was "dashing"? What a crock of bullshit! But, at least it's All-American bullshit, so fuk me runnin'.........it stands for sumpthin'!

Wake up.

If you have a more informed opinion on who should be the next one 'voted off the Survivor island', over who wants to cut taxes, and increase spending on health care, you should stay the fuk home!

If you can't tell me the name of the Governor of your state, stay the hell away from the polls! (Obviously, voting/politics isn't something you take too seriously, and it is a serious matter!)

Voting isn't something you do to be "cool", and it isn't something you do to be "patriotic". You vote, because you actually think the person you are voting for will better your way of life as an American. That makes it a patriotic act.

Some of you guys want to wrap yourselves in the flag, and that's great. Too bad some of you wrapped it over your eyes and ears.

hellah,

i agree with my friend, gardenweasel. you misread chanman's post. imo, chanman is a very witty poster if you read between the lines.

why hellah or anybody else votes for a candidate is nobody elses business, but the voters. at least he is voting, which after 9/11, i hope more people decide to voice their opinion by voting.

and i also agree with c-town that when somebdy joins the national guard, they have to be prepared to enter conflict if it arises.

AR you are correct the NG is no hideing place anymore. That all changed with the down sizeing of our regular armies started 1988. The deal was to have highly trained NG units ready to go in less then 30 days. Most NG units now get good equipment to train with. Back in 50/6070"s they got the leftover stuff. Or the obsolete or dam near obsolete material. This was to help save big bucks.
