Baltimore Ravens banged up as preseason opener against Saints approaches

The Baltimore Ravens got a day off on Sunday, resting several injured players in advance of their preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday.

The Saints and Ravens kick off at 6:30 p.m. Central time at M&T Bank Stadium.

Among the injured, according to the Baltimore Sun, are the Ravens' top two picks, Breshad Perriman and Maxx Williams.

Perriman has missed eight practices with a sprained knee. Williams hasn't participated in team work since being poked in the eye last Thursday.

The Ravens' full injury list is here.

Unlike the Ravens, Saints coach Sean Payton doesn't comment on the injury status of players during the preseason.

The status of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady could impact the Saints' second preseason game.

This is a big week for Brady and the NFL, writes the Boston Globe. The parties will meet in federal district court on Wednesday for settlement talks.

The Patriots will conduct joint practices with the Saints at the Greenbrier resort on Aug. 19-20 and then play the Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Aug. 22.

they called the perriman injury a "bruised knee".....roughly 9 practices later,no perriman.....and we`re a tad short on deep threats after perriman...he`ll likely miss the first preseason game.....who knows after that.....he`s missing too much time for an unpolished rookie....

Williams was back at practice today...the eye poke apparently didn`t do permanent damage...

keep an eye on rb buck allen from usc.....he`s showing something in camp...

So sick of this guy's bullshit, the over-rated over paid POS!

CUT HIS ASS!

Concerned about Webb
There are still concerns about cornerback Lardarius Webb. Coach John Harbaugh said Webb had a hamstring ailment at the end of practice Monday, but he hasn?t played well in training camp.
He suffered the injury after rookie receiver Darren Waller blew past him for a long touchdown reception.
The Ravens can?t be comfortable with his play so far.

never came back all the way from his knee injury...that`s what worried me about jimmy smith(although apparently he`s looking very good in camp..appears to be as good as ever).....signing kyle Arrington from n.e. was a bigtime move for ozzie... ....
