Pats average 35 pts/gm with Gronk, 34 pts/gm without. You can bump that 2nd number up a bit given they didn't have him for the majority of this last game where they put up 41 pts.

Colts were right there with NE offensively and had a much better defense than NE. With Manning and thin air to boot. What did that get Denver?

theres a slight difference...the ravens come into this game with real momentum and a recent history of having some success vs the pats........the texans were hamstrung(or played like they were) for the last month and never had a chance...they played for 3 quarters like they had packed their bags.......

i`d rather have <s>bisket</s> french pastry? on our side than not...

Hey, I'm on the Ravens side this game, so you don't have to convince me. I was just pointing out the general irrelevance of the Gronk stat Cie gave out. I'm not sure it will make that big of a difference. They lost with him to the Ravens in week 3.

You mean Denver? You are correct in a sense... Den was 2nd in yards per game to NE, but by a difference of 4.7 pts/gm, which is pretty significant. On a yards per play basis, they were much closer... just a tenth of a yard.
And of course we agree that Den had a better defense, although you can see that the Pats have improved as the season's gone on.

I'm just saying that nobody should go out betting this game based on Brady's stats with and without Gronk.

I think the biggest factor in the game is not one that can be measured statistically, but rather an intangible one, and it boils down to one simple thing...

Baltimore KNOWS that it can hang with this team AND beat them.

Only one other team, SF (and maybe SEA if you want to include them), can say that. They are not scared of the Pats and won't settle for defeat, like Houston did after they failed to convert their great opening kickoff into 7 points rather than settling for 3.

Add the Ray Lewis retirement factor and I guarantee the last team he wants to go out to in the final game of his career is the Patriots.

Yeah, of course I meant Broncos.

Scary thought; Early consensus is over 71% on the Ravens. And no line move.

I think books know they are going to take a lot of action on the Pats come gameday. There isn't a more public team left in the playoffs.

Who cares about some posts made by some guy on the Internet?

It is the singularly most stupid post made so far on this postseason. It speaks for itself.

He said the Ravens are a LOCK. Can you not see how dumb that is? I am sure you can. You are not stupid. I've seen your posts. :0008

The pat's ypg and ppg splits with/without Gronk may not reflect it, but it is my opinion that brady's td ratio and comp % without gronk reflect an overall decrease in his effectiveness in the absence of gronk. Of course, I did not bet this game solely based on my interpretation of those splits......

I'm curious to know what people think the ML on the Ravens would be in the Super Bowl if they were to advance and face the 9ers? What about the Falcons?

The closer the game to Hilltop country the higher the percentage of the lock. This one is a jaunt. I'll wait for the next one. GL with the play. :)

I don't know ml but I think if they play Niners, they are 7 point dogs and if its Atlanta its 3-4. I usually dislike the Ravens cause of Lewis I will pull for them in this one cause I'm sick of the Patriots being there much like (Bama)

Not going back but someone mentioned the Texans were better defense than Ravens, when 100% I would agree but the Texan defense has been lit up of late that includes the Jags and Vikings. Good passing teams scorched em and the Texans play the Jags and Titans twice

I just heard one of these so called "experts" on the radio in vegas say that if Baltimore advances, they'd be a 4pt dog to SF and a PK against ATL. Dunno if that makes sense, but apparently he go his info from one of the sportsbooks out there.

I think I just heard on NBC sports radio that the remaining AFC teams have losing records vs the NFC, while the NFC is undefeated vs the AFC. It can easily be verified, but I haven't done so yet.

Ravens were 2-2, otherwise it is true.

SAG's 1/16/13
HOME ADVANTAGE=[ 2.78]

N.E. 31.10

BALT. 24.71

SAN FRAN 30.59

ATL. 26.78

sportsbook line

AFC N.E. -9' /SAG -9

NFC S.F. -3'/SAG -1

POTENTIAL SUPERBOWL MATCHUP

#'s just about right w/a Raven win as a 9 point dog would move their SAG real close to 26.00 thus bringing the SAG numbers real close to those projected above..

about this time of year SAG numbers are not off by very much.
