Hard to beat a couple dozen raw oysters(only way I like them). I will eat them when traveling, but most I have found to be bland compared to the Apalachee Bay(fl) Oysters I'm used to.

I moved away from Baltimore 1987. Back then and even now they had these bull roasts. Pit beef, raw oysters and clams and all the beer you can drink. Back then it was like $20 to get in. You would see these ads almost every week in the summer. Many times I have sat and eaten over 100 raw oysters. If you never had a Baltimore pit beef sandwich you haven't lived yet. These things were usually held at fire houses as a fund raiser. The good ole days.

they don't really have pit beef restaurants in Baltimore. They have stands all over town and usually only open on Saturdays. That's how is was when I lived there.

This is a fancy one. lol

Had them in Seattle, I would assume they were local so not sure if same as Cal. Not bad in Boston but think I liked the clams even better. Just preference, ya know. I have no doubt that just like the Gulf, there are some areas in the region that produce better than others. When I am in Florida and they tell me they have Texas Oysters instead of Apalachicola ones I don't even get them. Guess for people that don't eat many they are all the same, but as you know they just aren't.

Oh I see.... wow this is unique and awesome.... I just typed in pit beef for Los Angeles and all I see is garbage. No comparison to what Baltimore is offering..looks delicious and I love potato rolls ... .. Chaps is on goldbelly... Tiger sauce is right up my alley. I know I?ve seen this place on the food old television before ..... nice call. Looking forward to these
