Was thinking about having a concrete pad layed down in my back yard for a basketball hoop..............probably around 20ft x 40 ft.........

Any ideas how much something like this would cost??

Any recommendations....(kind of concrete,etc.)

Have you ever done something like this??

Thanks

I have been in the concrete business for 23 years (full time) and w/o knowing anything about how much excavation needs to be done or prep work to get the proposed site to proper grade, or access to the site, I would say anywhere between $3200 to $4000. ($4-$5 per sq. foot) Might find somebody to do it cheaper, but you get what you pay for in this business. Make sure they use atleast a 4000 PSI concrete with a maximum 5" slump and rebar (not mesh) for the reinforcing that is placed in the middle of the pour, and not on the ground like some yahoos do. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Is that for tear out and replace??? I'm getting $5-6 here in KC. You have union help to, don't you???? No disrespect but don't you think 6" of concrete is a little over kill for a BB court. I don't even pour it that thick for driveways and I never have any problems. Have to agree that if you offer somebody some green backs, it might get you little better deal. Cash is king.

BEANER WOULD SAY OVER PAY CEMENT MIXER:mj07:

He said he was an iron worker and he calls you a cement mixer. You would think with him being in the building trades unless he is bullshitting, he would know what your trade was called:shrug:
