I watch them do it at the club I belong to. It takes the right kind of tape. It doesn't look too difficult. They do it with gasoline, believe it or not. But it seems easy to screw up too. I think you can get it done for around $10 a grip and that includes the grip and the re-gripping process....

Not hard at all. U will need grip tape(it's double sided) and lighter fluid. First cut ur grip off and remove the original tape. Place ur grip tape on the club. Pull the side off ur grip tape. Drench the grip tape with lighter fluid. Put a tee in the butt of the grip and fill grip about a quarter with lighter fluid and shake to get the inside of the grip covered with lighter fluid. Pour remainder lighter fluid on grip tape. Remove tee from butt of club and slide the grip on. Make alignment adjustments and let sit overnight. Hope this helps u

Also if you have a vice it's much easier to hold the club while trying to slide the grip on, but make sure you cushion it or you could crush the shaft. You can buy a kit but I forget what the catalog is called that Pap ordered it from. He just redid all of PaSprints clubs and it took him a bout 2 hours tops to do them all.

Yes. You can do it yourself, but at the price even the big box stores charge for it, it's not even a question. Like changing your own oil. Cost benefit is little to none.

I agree....for the cost factor it is just as easy to get someone at your local Pro Shop or a Dick's to put them on for you.

However, if you do, I would suggest paint thinner rather than gasoline or lighter fluid.

Do it yourself!

It's easy as pie.

Materials needed:

1. Can or jar

2. Gasoline or paint thinner

3. Small funnel

4. Masking tape

5. Utility knife, razor blade or pen knife

6. Paper towel

Procedure:

1. Use blade to remove old grip
2. Wrap masking tape around the shaft.
I wrapped the tape in a spiral with parts of the
shaft exposed. It does not affect the tightness of the new grip, but you might want to wrap the entire grip to make you feel better.
3. Soak paper towel with gas then wipe the masking tape on the grip.
4. Put finger on top end of grip to prevent gas from leaking. Use funnel to pour small amount of gas in new grip.
5. With fingers on both end of the grip, shake the grip so gas coats the inside of the grip.
6. Pour gas into jar
7. Slide new grip onto the shaft.
8. Voila!

Putting tip ~

You have a twenty footer. Normally, golfers spend far more time lining up the putt than they do practicing a stroke to determine how much force is required to get the ball to or past the hole. I submit that speed is the more critical of the two variables. Spend a few seconds lining up your putt. Spend twice that long taking practice strokes to determine the required "feel". Place your putter head behind the ball. Now look at the hole. DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE HOLE. Stroke the putt. Thank me later.
