Look, i'm very busy and don't have time to verify your claims about 3 polls or whatever. I'm going by memory and i'll go along for now. Just like Reagan once said, 'trust but verify.'

Let's get on with this thing and stop dragging our feet. TYIA

I always have wondered why everything has to be a big dick contest.

sorry bro, no idea i offended you. as for a big dick, not sure if i care to compare with you. maybe yours is bigger but mine works fine.

wtf by the way. i just expressed an opinion. maybe the whole board wants to play $5 sit n go's. but maybe, just maybe there might be an interest for a higher buy in. sorry if you think that's trying to prove i have a big dick. sorry again if i offended you. but you know what. i just expressed an opinion. sorry, i know i shouldn't do that. i should just say: hey, great idea dawgball, you the bomb. great idea. why didn't i think of that. you are awesome.

part of a message board is you get all walks of life. i asked if there was interest in a higher buy in. wtf problem do you have with that?

too many pricks at this place without the pecker to back it up. have a good life.

Guys... let's get back to the point before we have a new thread discussing ideas. I for one would rather see a

$20 or so buy in weekly and not a couple hundred... Most players here (as its FOOTBALL season again) will be heavy in football action and I personally don't want to drop a couple units per week (200 smakceroos) on an online tournie. Remember, this is what I'm taking away from it, it's about the MJsports community as a whole, so the more players the more commeraderie...Thats the whole point right? If we're looking to skin fellow members or it be just high rollers, I think the point is being missed.... More of a fun friendly tournament for the first one... Just my opinion...

Saying that, kudos to dawgball for the ideas... I for one like it.

Dawgball, I think I like your thoughts.

I would like to play a 20 week "season" with an investment of about 25-30 bucks a week. Either 5 or 10 goes back each week to the end of the year points prizes. If we get an average of 30 players each week (which may be wishful thinking based on past events)then we could have a pool of 6000 for end of year prizes. Plus you would have about 400 for each week prizes, etc.

I think I would alter your point system though, Dawg. I think it is too heavily weighted toward wins, etc. I would argue that winning a tournament is not 20 times as tough as it would be to finish 9th. But all of that is cosmetic until we get this thing rolling!!

Agree with BDB, playing $5 sitngos are no fun for me. Sorry but after playing 10/20 during the day or mid limit NL games thats just not fun. Sorry if that offends.

Maybe $30 a week for 10 weeks - plus a $X00 season fee for the season that goes straight in the end of the year pot? The weekly entry fees could partially go to the end of the year pool and partially for weekly prizes - maybe a 50-50 split? The other thing the one entry fee does is really give us a count of who's in. Lets see at $200 season fee figuring we get 30 guys to sign up (that may be a reach) that would be @ $10,500 in the end of the season prize pool - $6000 in season fees and half of the weeklys would be ($15x10x30)? thats not bad, plus weekly prizes?

Also I'll throw out the idea of what about holding say 15 events and you play in a max 10 to accumulate points? That would give people the opportunity to miss some - sort of like that Poker Invitational tourney on FSN - and we could even have point systems based on number of entries. Stars does this for payouts, they pay a certain amount to each position based on the total number of entries. Just some thoughts here, changing rapidly.

But say 1-9 entries you award points for top 3 in a certain fashion, 10-19 entries top 5 get points in a certain fashion, 20-29 entries top 7 etc. You earn points over our 15 week "season" but can play in a maximum of ten tournaments.

Depending on total entries we would award end of the "season" money to top X. i like the idea though of paying into the end of the season pool X amount plus having a weekly buyin.

Could also have a couple of "majors" with double points/double buyin?

And guys I dont think a WTF is necessary on any sides. Anyone thats been around for any length of time knows that we have guys here that lay $20-$30 a game during NFL season and guys who lay $1-2 dimes a game. Thats a product of their bankroll or how they like to play or what they make in their dayjobs or whatfreakingever. Why should poker be any different? I dont think the guys that lay dimes on a game would have any fun suddenly laying $10?

One thing I will say is Jack mentioned something about multiple sites. I'm not really interested in doing this if it involves chasing a bunch of poker sites for this kind of thing especially given that some of them have really lousy software and at some the regular mid or high lmiit games simply dont exist. Would kind of hope we setlle on one like Pokerstars and stick with it. Too much uncertainty right now to go throwing money in too many places unless they were to waive their minimum deposit requirement. Again, im my most humble of opinions.

I like the idea of calling the double/triple buy ins "majors", maybe $20 per week with 4 $50/$100 major tournaments, looks like 25 weeks of tournaments, only say top 18 count. Instead of people ponying up extra cash per tourney, the sites through in pool for the top 5...10 finishers of the series. They are going to get several reloads and new sign ups, as well as a rake from each tournament, and it looks like Jack wants this to occur over several sites...

So Far 9:30pm on Wednesday nights is the choice of the masses.

I think my main thoughts were:

1. A one-time season fee that includes your weekly buy-ins. This will make accounting easier as well as minimize the possibility of anyone saying that they will play then backing out.
2. Small prize for the weekly winner (the $5 weekly was just an example, but I was also not thinking a ton more than that to not take away from the season prize)
3. Large season prize for the top few spots

I've never played in Stars' leagues, so I am not sure how they work. My thoughts were based on FSN's Poker Superstars.

Just thoughts.

Regardless of money, I am assuming some of the purpose would be for bragging rights... Lord knows this board isn't above bragging. And I mean that in a good way. :SIB

The money is just part of the incentive.

Reiterating my only real insight:

If multiple tourneys are started have at least one keep us west coasters in mind. Don't make everything at 5pm or 6pm East Coast time on weeknights. The later the better.
