Going back and seeing those old pictures seems like forever ago.

Thought I would update. We moved in about six months ago. So far so good. Its starting to look like a home. We have been working hard. Landscaping is coming along. Media room is done and my favorite room:SIB

Still no back splash or dining room table. For some reason my wife is being extra picky. Furniture upstairs in the game room is lacking. One guest bed is nearly complete. The other is empty. Still need curtains in my office. The sun is blinding in the mornings.
The inside needs paint. To me the walls are very bland. Other than that we are close.

I spent the weekend painting the baby room. Our first born will be joining us in just two months!

Some updated pics

Very nice! Yoda is a nice touch in the movie room.

Natalie will be here before you know it!

We are about a year away from looking for our next home. We are so ready but want it to be a comfortable move and leave us with savings in case of an emergency.

Nicely done! :toast:

Congrats! That is an amazing home! It never ceases to amaze me the amount of home you can get for the price in some states.

I used to have a job where I had to verify mortgage files and you would be AMAZED at the homes I saw on appraisals in Texas for $250, $300, $350K. Homes that would EASILY be 3x the cost where I live. I also remember some of the Midwest states (Indiana, Michigan, etc.) having ridiculously low prices, as well.

Again, congrats. You did well! :toast:

Thanks Woodson. Im a huge Star Wars nerd. My goal is to get some more life size stuff in the media room. I found a life size Han Solo in Carbonite.. It made my nerd pants go crazy but the guy wouldnt budge on a 5 grand price..

Im always on the look out though..

Good luck with your house search!

We are lucky here. Although the property taxes here are out of whack.. Even still the amount of home you can get for the money makes up for it.

My wife had a few friends visit from CT last week for the baby shower. Two of them have actively started looking for jobs here.

They couldnt believe the cost of living. Each paid almost twice what we did for a home twice as small and 50 yrs old

Of course in NY but they work in Hartford. My wife worked for Arthrex as a Bio Medical Engineer there.. Doing product design.
She now works for Ortho Fix and is actually getting paid more than she was there.

According to her friends who work in insurance the pay seems to be about the same..
Plus they are sick of the cold. I hope they do move here. I know my wife really misses her friends:toast:
