I've got to chime in here friends. There is a huge diffeence between tolerating the differences in the human being (race) and tolerating ancient/ridiculous superstitions that still appear to have great import when it comes to our decision making process in the year 2008. If you want to worship a god, gods, astrological signs, animals, or what have you, that's fine. My problem with it is when it becomes "important" what superstition a political candidate subscribes, or more realistically, pretends to subscribe to when it comes to determining who our leader will be.
We don't don't tolerate people that tell us 2+3=4, but we damn well better tolerate anyone that says there is a guy in the sky that watches everything you do and will someday judge your lifeand determine whether or not you get to hang with the "in crowd". Absolutely absurd.
Cheers to Smurphy. I will bring back honor to the office, when elected.
