Well I don't see Gmroz beating up Christians or suicide bombing Mormon temples or even suggesting that Hindus be put in jail. So all in all - despite his verbal mockery of religious beliefs and pointing out problems caused by zealots - I would say he is as tolerant of religious people as Weasel is of hippies.

Has anyone in this thread said anything negatively of Gmroz? I have no problem with him.

I've got to chime in here friends. There is a huge diffeence between tolerating the differences in the human being (race) and tolerating ancient/ridiculous superstitions that still appear to have great import when it comes to our decision making process in the year 2008. If you want to worship a god, gods, astrological signs, animals, or what have you, that's fine. My problem with it is when it becomes "important" what superstition a political candidate subscribes, or more realistically, pretends to subscribe to when it comes to determining who our leader will be.

We don't don't tolerate people that tell us 2+3=4, but we damn well better tolerate anyone that says there is a guy in the sky that watches everything you do and will someday judge your lifeand determine whether or not you get to hang with the "in crowd". Absolutely absurd.

Cheers to Smurphy. I will bring back honor to the office, when elected.

The connection is that intolerance is intolerance no matter what causes you to be so.

I'm sorry, but that's bullshit and you know it. There is a huge difference between intolerance of human difference and the intolerance of superstitious beliefs. Superstitions, while shared by masses, don't warrant tolerance.

i personally hold a very strong core of beliefs that do stem from the Bible. however, as a republican voter, i am disgusted with the party because any candidate that is "anti abortion" is auto matically a must vote for.

I feel that bush II is the worst republican president in my lifetime. i did not vote for him the 2nd time............................. his biggest religous allies all like him because he claims to be anti abortion..........pitiful. if that is the reason to be elected i am qualified to be the next.

this country was founded on the freedom of religious choice - no state regulated religion. however, i personally am dissapointed with politicians that use the religion card to get elected.

Apparently we're all confused. Let me clarify.

I'm fine with you worshipping anything you like....absolutely fine with it. Knock yourself out. Just don't tell me I have to tolerate your superstitious belief system when it starts affecting my life in the way of laws and leadership.
