do any of you guys use local books that make it pick minus 1?

what a joke that was.

and remember the books that gave you a loss when one of your teaser teams pushed?

i once had a bookie years ago that charged the juice if your straight bet pushed.

Never got the -1 thing, but the teaser push/loss was standard. Always had juice on the pushed straight bets as well.

I actually had one guy that gave you a loss if you pushed one side of parlay.

I think some of locals around here still do it. I remember years ago before they came up with the overtime, there was a big, nationally televised game that Vegas had as a pickem. The books around here had it at -1/-1 which meant whoever you liked, you had to give up a point. The game ended up a tie and they collected on both sides.

Jack- my douchebag local still charges juice for a push and a push on a teaser is a loss. Thats one of many reasons why I don't bet teasers. His lines are always 1/2 point to a point off the normal lines.

My 1st bookie (I was 14:scared ) had this policy. He didn't need that to make $$ from me. I used the current AP rankings to pick "winners" :mj07: :mj07:

One guy my dad bet with set everything up on whole numbers and all pushes were losers.:com: I helped him pick games when I was growing up. Now you do not have to worry with that bs, dad retired from betting after Betonsports screwed us out of our money,we split an account. I told him that was an isolated incident and he believes all books will screw you out of your money. His local died a few years ago.

I bet online now with no complaints. betjam is the best online book I have ever used.

My book uses the line at kickoff no matter when you place the bet. If you bet early in the week and the line moves, you're stuck with the line move (or you can cancel, if you call before kickoff).

I've got a local guy that is pretty good and fair. Does not move the lines too much like some online books do also pays on time when you win and expects to be paid on time if you lose. Much less hassle than all of these money transfers, etc.
