vick will beat this, then he'll use this unfortunate incident to propel him to finally master his position and become the quarterback of the future.

Well it has been one day and have yet to see Jesse and Al step to his defense. Do I think he deserves to die? No but if convicted I certainly hope he serves the max and then is forced to clean up dogshit the rest of his life and eat Alpo.

Shockingly AL has already spoken out AGAINST Vick.

I couldnt believe it. He gave his full support to the Feds.

I think a spokesman from one of Nikes sweatshops in India has reported:

ATLANTA - Michael Vick's legal troubles prompted Nike on Thursday to suspend the release of its latest product line named after the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.

Nike has told retailers it will not release a fifth signature shoe, the Air Zoom Vick V, this summer. Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said the four shoe products and three shirts that currently bear Vick's name will remain in stores.

Vick will be arraigned next week in a Richmond, Va., federal courtroom on charges of sponsoring a gruesome dogfighting operation.

Stoyer said Nike still has a standing contract with Vick but declined to speculate on his future with the company.

A statement released by Nike Inc. said the company "is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent. We do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen; therefore, we have not terminated our relationship.

Stoyer, who declined to discuss terms of Vick's contract, indicated the company has no commercials or documentaries planned with the three-time NFL Pro Bowl selection.

In years past, Nike has run footage and interviews with Vick on its Web site, but none of the video promotions are currently posted.

"Some of that was shown on a limited run based on rights and usage," Stoyer said. "There's nothing new planned."

Vick signed his current contract with Nike in 2001, the same year Atlanta chose him as the NFL's No. 1 overall draft pick. After leading the Falcons to the 2002 and '04 playoffs, Vick last year became the first quarterback in league history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.

On the course!
I read the thread, and he kinda tries to defend his point later. The thing about YYZ is he likes to oppose people just to oppose and argue with them.

I have a lot of time on my hands, but not that fuking much.

Listen, guys. You, me, and most posters in here will agree that this shit was/is totally insane. All I was driving at in the other thread was the fact that no matter how much it offends us, there are people out there who see this the same way YOU might look at boxing, etc!

PLEASE don't tell me it's not the same thing! I actually get that fact!

I know that I drew comparisons between boxers and the dogs, but they were not to be taken 100% literal, either. Yes, men can "walk away", but I tried to show how the economics made that a near impossibility. (Not like these guys can quit fighting and start running IBM, for Christ sake!)

Ok, glad to know you are still sane....

Posted my thoughts in another thread and will post them here as well.

Here is what bothers me about the entire situation... what Michael Vick did was wrong and I'm not defending him.

However, had Vick killed people, he probably would have been tolerated far more by the general public especially if the people killed were scumbags... however, since he had man's best friends (Dogs) fight to their deaths, he's considered the worst thing since Hitler. It really shows me how many people are completely screwed up in their ways of thinking in this country.

Dogs are animals... people hunt and kill different animals all the time. Knowone says jack about it as it's considered a sport to hunt. However, Vick gets involved in dog fighting and every NFL fan in the nation wants to see him dead, etc. One of the main reasons is people have dogs and love their little furry animals and a lot of these same people don't get along with the general public. Their best friends are their dogs so they can relate to the pit bulls that have been killed by Vick and his Thug friends. I'm hardly condoning what these morons did, but this crap has been happening for a long time and probably didn't hit mainstream America until Vick's conviction.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox and done rambling, but really feel I have some valid points as people like dogs more than other humans.

Horrible racist joke, but I know you have all heard it... what is the difference between a dead black man and dead dog in the road... there are skid marks in front of the dog.
IMO, this might be true of more races including white, but you get the point of the joke. People like dogs more than other humans in many cases.

My thoughts for what they are worth.
If this is true Vick is a terrible scumbag and should never see the light of day again.
This is not a guy who needs the money. This guy is torturing animals for no other reason than because it is fun to him. Useless POS.

It isn't so much the fighting of the dogs as it is the horrendous treatment before and after of the defenseless animals.

this is an excellent point....point made.....and after reading the indictment....and after reading your post,it`s not very difficult to comprehend why this one sentence in your diatribe may have some validity...

Ray Carruth killed his girlfriend and is in jail for the rest of his life. Despite killing hundreds of dogs, Vick only faces a maximum of 6 years. No, we don't think of people and animals as being equal. But we are civilized and laws are in place usually for a good reason.

Maybe I couldn't say it as well as this, that's what I was talking about. I look at the reaction about dogs and then compare it to the reaction about humane suffering here in America and around the world and it does not make sense to me. I still say the reaction was over kill. Why are some willing to go to extremes for animals but not for people ? Those that think this question is not valid , are not being honest.

Can you guys just take one case at a time? WTF does the global suffering of humans have to do with this case? By your logic no crime is worth talking about because they all pale in comparison to global suffering.

Like it or not, this story is huge and will remain hot news for quite sometime. No point in acting surprised or dismissive because other worse things are going on.

What Michael did was wrong but we should stick to the facts. He did not kill hundreds of dogs.

I don't know. I was approximating the total number that he allegedly bred, bet on, killed, and had to be put down once discovered. If he's been involved for 5+ years, then I figure it's in the hundreds. Maybe it's less. I should give him the benefit of the doubt I guess.

Let's say it 's 1000. We have millions of people in this country and around the world that suffer. I'm talking about human suffering and death. I'll focus on that before I focus on the dogs. Where is the outrage and the voice for human suffering ? I know we have to stick up for animals but this story has received more coverage than most stories of human suffering and that is where I draw the line. You have to ask why ???? I know it is a sad story, life is not fair. We are talking about dogs. America needs to get a grip and use the same energy to fight for humans !! We have got right wing bastards getting their panties all wet about dogs, what about the human beings ? Stand up for the people. If not fake outrage, this is stupid outrage. You right wing lappers, are always crying about the media bias. They drop a couple of puppy dogs into a story and you hit your knees faster than LEWINSKY !
