Rider -6.5 over Canisius ****
Griffs are 0-7 this yr.Have lost 16 of last 17 games.They beat Peter in the MAAC tourney 1st rd lyr.Lost most of there starters.They started 5 freshman in there past 2 games..but have one of the best MAAC pt gds in Turner.They are a poor shooting team and rank last in the nation in scoring.Parrotta there coach went to my HS and I like a lot.They are young but Simmons a volleyball HS star has 27 blocked shots. They have some puppies like Frazier,etc.. Give the Griffs a few more games and I think they will improve.
Rider just lost the other nite to Niagara where NU hit 3's from the falls..on the Canadian side...They have an aircraft carrier in 6'10 Thompson,his brother Ryan and one of the best shooters in the MAAC in Mansell.Rider stayed up in the Buffalo area after the NU game so there was no travel today.Like rider to get a 10 pt win.Rider has dominated this series..Won 7 str..20-4 since joining the MAAC..griffs will improve but will have trouble on the bds keeping Thompson and co out of the paint...
Mass -9.5 over Marist ***
Game is at the Mohegan Sun in Conn so its really a neutral court..more mass fans but its not in Amherst despite Mass being the home team.Mass has a good team.Ford there coach has gone up-tempo,fast break break,press,trap,create turnovers,etc,etc..see Pitino for style or Donovan..Forbes and Harris are avg over 20 pts making them the only 2 players from one team in the top 40..Lowe the Mt vernon kid is a solid pt gd.Brower has the best 3 pt FG% in the country shooting 61%..19-31..they are a poor matchup for the Foxes.Foxes have one solid scorer in McCroskey..There 2 new gds devin and Gavin are doing a great job.Gavin is a 17 yr old freshman and in 2 or 3 yrs will be the best pt gd in the MAAC..Benjamin is there only true low post player even though Stilphin is 6'8..Spongie Ben can dominate vs smaller teams but has trouble with solid post players.Mass inside has Milligan at 6'9,Gaffney and Bonner.These guys have depth and size.
Brady will play some zone but Mass scored 107 pts vs the Cuse's 2-3.Foxes play 2-3 also so changes or adjustments have to be made. Mass is coming off one of there biggest ever wins at the Dome only to lose to IUPUI on the rd. So coming off this loss I think Mass will be refocused..foxes have won 5 in a row...but Mass has to much firepower from the inside and outside.They are quicker then the foxes and they are 7th in the nation in scoring and 19th in 3 pt shooting..Foxes hang around for awhile but Mass wins this by 12-15 pts.

What a great game to watch.Rhodies want this game so bad..and they have the team to do it.RI has great outside shooters in Baron and Bitee.Daniels is there best player at 6'8 and his partner Seawright.Mbang is solid. This a a dangerous team and Jimmy Boe knows it.The 2-3 zone could be in trouble because this is one of the top 3 pt shooting team in the country.Cuse might be forced to go man..and even though Boe has been playing some man.it's not his best defense.Cuse just beat Vir and they are good.Super froshs Green and Flynn are great.Devo,etc...If Cuse played on all cylinders they can beat anyone on any given nite..i liked this game a lot and thought I would get better numbers but I think the Mass win here at the dome didn't help.Both teams defense is questionable..But I like the Rhodies here to keep this close or maybe even get an upset.Baron the coach knows Jimmy Boe more then anyone from his days at Bonnie...
