Last time I saw Tommy Boy - which was probably 2-3 years ago - I remember thinking how crazy it was that in reality "Big Tom" outlived Tommy by over 20 years. Well I guess it's officially 22 now and always will be.

I was lucky enough to see him perform at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago almost exactly a decade ago in 2 one-act plays. The first one is him and one other guy (who has maybe 5 lines total) - the second was just him. It was really special to see someone with such stage presence just command the audience's attention for almost 2 hours by himself. He was definitely a master of his craft.

Whenever he had a show in Chicago during baseball season, he would stop by the Cubs radio booth and sit in for half an inning. Always seemed like a good guy who was very down to earth.
