it was the head coach or him..

$2,309,918 to hold a clipboard...+the draft picks of course..

oh...and....Signing Bonus $13,799,344

Clevland has one on their bench too.

4.3 million signing bonus ..they get to keep that folks

unless of course they can cut and sue him for conduct unbecoming..

repeat after me..99 out of a 100 QB's in the NFL have to be able to do the 3 and 5 step drop..They must also be able to throw the entire passing tree..They must also be able to read all 5 progressions .

See the Timmy Tebow Rule for further explanations

I have another rule about players in the first round. The Clowny rule. If the players plays in college by his own standards, does not get along with his coach, is a disruption in the locker room, gets hurt alot, is afraid to get hurt so he sits out, then you pass.

On RGIII - the dude has the chicken legs. When they are not solid in the hips down ( Luck ) they will not be able to run in the NFL without getting ACL and be out for years while you are paying millions.

There is another guy coming out this year that will fall into that same category. Mariotta from Oregon.
Is very athletic but he is going to have running problems, get slammed injured, and sit and be paid with millions.

Dont these teams learn ................. like ever

scott...I honestly thought(particularly 3/4 of the way through his first season)that rg3 was going to do something in this league....but carelessness with his own body(trying to do things he did in college in the nfl) seem to spell doom for the guy....he really isn`t built to be that guy at the nfl level...that injury probably ruined his mobility permanently... and without his mobility, theres just not enough there(traditional qb skills)......the chicken legs comment has some merit...

in fairness to rg3,i think kaepernick and Wilson, given rg3`s circumstances(lousy team, debilitating long term injury) would suffer a similar fate...but,as you said, they don`t have "chicken legs"...they`re built to take nfl level pounding(and in Wilson`s case,he`s much less apt to throw his body around carelessly..he has better instincts as far as knowing what he can and can`t get away with out there)......

I actually think colt McCoy has grown as a qb over the years and has a chance to be "relatively" successful(he`ll be hamstrung by playing with a team that seems to have gotten used to losing)..he`s a gamer....

agree

players like RG cannot play any other way as that is how they have been successful in football.

you just cant take it to the next level

why waste picks and money on guys like this.

why waste picks and money on guys like this.

because most GMs in the NFL don't know what they're doing?

I've said for years what old school said earlier... for a qb to succeed in the nfl, they have to be able to read a defense pre-snap, read it again post-snap, and make an accurate throw. most of these "running" qbs can't do that. but they're successful in college and the nfl GMs (and the owners) see that and figure these guys are "safe" picks. in no small part because the fans get excited about these guys, so nobody complains when they're drafted. "huh, that guy was so good in college."

RG3 could thrive in the right system. Gruden was a horrible hire for the Redskins, he will be there 3 years tops and I doubt if he makes it through next season. He is a terrible head coach, one who wasn't even a very good coordinator. Colt McCoy wont fare much better than Griffin did, the O-line is awful at pass protection. The only chance this Washington team has at success is to hand the ball to Morris 30+ times and hope the shitty defense can hold there opponents to 20 or less.

Report: Highly unlikely RG3 back with Skins
Sources tell the Washington Post it's "highly unlikely" Robert Griffin III will return to the Redskins next season.
On draft day in 2012, the Redskins gave the Rams their first-round picks in 2012, 2013 and 2014 in addition to a 2012 second-rounder for the right to take Griffin No. 2 overall. He was spectacular while leading the Redskins to the playoffs as a rookie, but suffered a career-altering ACL tear in the Wild Card game against the Seahawks. Since then, RG3 has tanked in terms of on-field performance, getting benched by Mike Shanahan late last year and again by Jay Gruden this year. Gruden appears to have convinced meddling owner Dan Snyder that the Redskins need to find a quarterback that fits his pocket-passer scheme, meaning Griffin can likely be had for pennies on the dollar this offseason.

Should be at least 5-10 teams going after him

Shanahan ruined that kid when he hurt his knee and he kept him in even though RGIII could barely walk. He was having a great year up till then. Would he last playing like that..... I don't think so but by now maybe he could have learned what it takes to be a pro qb?

You're a closet Skins fan, aren't you?

not at all............I have to say that I really admired what griffin, morris and to a lesser extent jordan reed did to right their ship temporarily(I keep hoping the ravens will draft some "young" offensive talent but they don`t seem to want to provide flacco with anything more than old retreads from other teams).........and truthfully,we`re seeing how much better those old retreads are than what the ravens had last year....

you probably don`t remember(you were probably gone from b`more when cable t.v. became a big thing) but all the comcast sportsnet cable stations carry both redskins and ravens stuff....so it`s hard to avoid seeing some redskins crap.....I`m familiar with them basically by default....

and I`m not an rg3 hater born and bred...I was rooting for the guy to succeed...

rooting for him to succeed..

he was billed as the second coming..

giving the Rams four high-value draft picks over three years: their first-round picks in 2012 (No.6 overall), 2013 (No.22 overall), and 2014 (No.2 overall), as well as their second-round pick (No.39 overall) in 2012.

and yea..Jacks gotta ya pegged..ya see so muich Redskins crap ya end up being a closet Skins Fan.

GW...ya watch and read rel close to as much as I do...who is going to take a flyer on a QB in this league who can't go thru the progressions and ...and a big and...done had his life passed before his very eyes seeing ya ain't out running the darth vaders on defense..

jim harbaugh seems to have taken a chance on just such a qb....and exactly how long do you think Russell Wilson(who I have mad respect for) lasts in this league playing for the redskins with a bum knee?....

yeah,i was rooting for the guy to succeed.......and it looked like he might until the injury........

hey,i`m also rooting for manziel(I know that`s heresy)..what can I say?...the more diverse skillsets we see in the nfl,the merrier...makes the game interesting....

I just can`t get worked up into an irrational lather rooting against a player just to be proven right or wrong...

Fair enuff...I will be sure to stay rational when yet another "over-hyped run around til ya make something happen QB" from the college ranks fails in the NFL.

Vs a mediocre defense and Brandon Weeden in the second half. He probably puts up similar numbers tomorrow but no way he is a franchise QB or better than RG# for that matter.
