Dirty Dancing. The movie. Brings a tear to my eye, actually.

Patrick Swayze.

It's no 'Roadhouse', but that movie really gets me.

may i finish this thread by saying that like paul or not,i believe we are all entitled to our own opinions....but,i honestly think i`d have about as much chance of becoming president as mr. paul....

and why not?.....PRESIDENT GARDENWEASEL?.....i like the sound of it...

my first order of business would be to install a wet bar in the oval office (assuming one doesn't exist now)......

a guinness and a mind eraser would be a nice way to unwind after a day of dealing with the likes of harry reid and nancy lugosi.....

the only problem would be getting ted kennedy to leave.......

Your going to have to leave the house first if you plan on running.

....This does give me an idea though. We should have a mock election in this forum with only madjacks posters as candidates....

I'd give AR the nod as early favorite, but I'd probably vote for Chadman or Judge.

It wasn't always like that. In 2003/04/05, it was very balanced in here, if not tilted to the '9/11 HAPPENED AND NOW I WILL GO ALONG WITH ANYTHING' crowd.

One by one, the people that strongly supported this Iraq adventure have slinked off because there is no possible defense at this point.

To their 'credit', The Weasel and Wayne forge on endorsing this abortion. Wease more than Wayne, but it's by degree.

Don't let paranoid goofs like Sponge and SpyTheWeb cause you to reject out of hand sober arguments about this 'war.'

This goof from the gitgo was against this war even
knew
it was a con job before it started. I doubt you had any kind of foresight like that. Never jumped with the rest of you goofs watching Bushes con job from the pile of rubble. Didn't even inch close. I stepped back like others that were informed about this family and wondered what the hell is going on. this goof had that foresight and id bet my last dollar you sure as hell didn't. Just watching you get sucked into the Kerry sham about our soldiers tells me how easily you get conned.

"the bunker"
""astute"" wannabe president weasel checking in.....and saying that i may run as an independent if ar1 gets the presidential nod....

i`m a little leery about the potential for a budding monarchy with "prince saul " waiting in the wings.....

i think i have a shot....because obviously, the same people who are covering up the 9/11 conspiracy are the ones responsible for suppressing the overwhelming support that ron paul has everywhere outside of internet polls . . .

so,since i`m in with rove and cheney, the obvious culprits,i could steal the election....

power to the peeeeeeople!!!! :director:

Do a search, Spongy. I was strongly against the Iraq occupation since the beginning, but not because of any administration plots or conspiracies that I came up with, or whatever.

It was simply because I knew that there was no way to get out and leave a lasting, peaceful democracy that was friendly to America. I guess I could still be proven wrong, but I highly doubt it.

There were a few other reasons, but that is the long and the short of it. I don't see government boogeymen around every corner like yourself, but I know a bad idea when I see one. And this was a terrible one.

Although I am flattered to be mentioned in the same post as my possible esteemed competitors, I think I might want to wait to hold the election until the immigration amnesty deal is done. I think I might poll pretty strongly with the new blood(s). I was first to hail the legislation - before I even knew what it was about. That has to win me some votes with my new peeps.

Smurphy, while your misplaced confidence in me is certainly appreciated, I must refer to the famous quote from the ever eloquent General William Tecumseh Sherman, "If nominated I will not run; if elected I will not serve."

Unlike Weasel, I have no desire to attempt to lead this band of neer-do-wells as failure in that endeavour is as sure as tomorrow's sunrise.

By the way, Sherman was very quotable and here are a few of his best:

?In our Country... one class of men makes war and leaves another to fight it out.?

?I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are.?

?If I had my choice I would kill every reporter in the world, but I am sure we would be getting reports from Hell before breakfast.?

?If forced to choose between the penitentiary and the White House for four years, I would say the penitentiary, thank you.?

?I think I understand what military fame is; to be killed on the field of battle and have your name misspelled in the newspapers.?

And of course, my personal favorite:

?I make up my opinions from facts and reasoning, and not to suit any body but myself. If people don't like my opinions, it makes little difference as I don't solicit their opinions or votes.?

i saw a documentary on sherman on the history channel & they said that his march through the south was one of the greatest military feats in american history.

This is OK. Your nomination will be replaced with resident centrist, Kosar. He's a first choice, but I fear too many incriminating photos could bring him down. Plus, I have concerns with his stubborn defense of Screech. Makes me wonder if there is some sort conflict of interest there. Other than that, alcoholism, and his desire to make manatees extinct, I think he is a competent leader who puts the concerns of the nation first.
