Reggie Bush is better than Peterson. Both Running Backs are awesome and would start on pretty much any team in the nation. Reggie Bush is a type of player that controls the game. He can beat you so many ways. When Bush goes for a pass route out of backfield. NO LB can guard him. It is impossible. Bush has 4.3 speed. YES 4.3 speed!!!! He runs perfect routes and never drops a ball. Bush can take it to the house on any given play. Bush also splits out of the backfield and lines up at WR. Who can guard him? I highly highly doubt anybody would take Peterson over Reggie Bush. BTW, Reggie Bush, like Peterson, was the #1 RB out of high school. The only area Peterson is better than Bush is prob. running between the tackles. Peterson is bigger and stronger. USC already has a RB Lendale White who fits that role, and BUSH is adding weight as we speak! All USC players are working out for next year starting this week.

I will make this statement right here on madjacks. REGGIE BUSH WILL BE A TOP 5 PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL BY THE END OF NEXT YEAR!!!! YEP, despite competing against 3 other stud RB's USC has for playing time. Bush only gets to touch the ball 10-15 times a game because other RB's are studs too.

Why does Bush split time?????

Bush splits time becuase he competing against 3 other stud RB's that no college has.

ALL FRESHMAN
Reggie Bush #1 RB out of high school
Lendale White #8 RB out of high school, CO player of year
Chauncy Washington #9 RB out of high school

SOPHOMORE
Hershall Dennis #8 RB out of high school

All 4 RB's have completely different running styles, and Chows used all 3 effectively. Washington redshirted because of injury. All 4 RB's are the real deal.

RUSHING (top 3 rushers)
LenDale White 133carries 728 yards 5.5 average
Hershel Dennis 130 644 5.0
Reggie Bush 82 480 5.9

Recieving
Reggie Bush 13receptions 272 yards 20.9 yards per rec.
13 receptions === 4 touchdowns

Any questions? :nono:

I do not think you watch USC football. USC does not feature ANYBODY in their offense. USC has 10 weapons they use on offense. Spread the ball around. Take what the defense gives you. Mike Williams was hardly used in the Rose Bowl (he still had good game) because Chow beat Michigan with the other players. Bush was only a frosh, and Chow used him wisely. Lienart/Williams/Bush all are trying to win a Heisman. I think Bush has the best chance because he is can do the most things and is the most talented athlete on the team.

You doubting Bush's capabilities proves to me you have not watched ANY of USC football games since USC played ASU. That is when the USC run game started coming along and the younger RB's started playing more. Remember, USC OL was not big, they were excellent pass blockers and average/good run blockers. Nothing special blocking on the run and USC lost their 2nd best OL their last 3 games of year which hurt. John Drake.

Go ask any USC fan or anybody who seen USC play numerous times about BUSH. Let me see what they say. I do know analysts across the country agree with me Bush is the real deal at USC. Maybe you do not read or listen. Just wait till next year.

Scott - I have to call you out on some of your recent comments regarding Bush. YES,he was highly regarded out of high school but the fact remains he is #3 on the depth chart last I looked. You have been slowly backing out of your comment of how you think he wil win the Heisman. First you stated he will win, then he will be a top-5 player in all of college football when next year he will probably not even be a top-5 player ON HIS OWN TEAM! You then went on to say that he is the best athlete on the team and I'll give you the opportunity to rephrase your comment now that Davis is on the team. Mike Williams wasn't highly regarded and he is arguably the best athlete/player on the team three years later. It is a tribute to Carroll the amount of talent on the team but Bush, a highly regarded player, will have to be the #1back in order to even have a prayer... in two years for him to be invited to NY.

USC will be a fun team to watch the next few years BUT if they stumble at all you are setting yourself up to be SLAUGHTERED on this forum. As it stands now the pressure of them to win an OUTRIGHT title along with LSU will be intense. Both teams will be hoping to show those who are critical of the split title wrong. I hope, for your sake and theirs, they are able to get at least one NC during this time. With all the talent they are bringing in if they DON'T win it could be one bumpy road...

Best of luck and I look forward to seeing your weekly posts in regards to the Trojans...

Nice post and very respectful. I do think Reggie Bush will win a Heisman at USC. I also think Reggie Bush is the most talented player at USC. Mike Williams is the best player on the team.

Reggie Bush has 4.3 speed and is 6ft tall 190 pounds. Next year Reggie will be closer to 200 pounds. Remember he is only a frosh. Bush was the 3rd string but remember, USC has 3 other STUD RB's. USC is smart and uses everyone to their best advantage and you have to earn your playing time at USC. So Bush only being a frosh, was not annointed anything.

At the end of the year, it was clear Bush is the best/most talented RB/player on the team. VERY CLEAR!

The guy is a football player that runs track (very important). Runs 4.3 so he is basically the fastest player on the field and has amazing moves/cuts. He is a great RB and can catch the ball excellent out of the backfield. Great hands. He has such great hands that he sometimes lines up at WR or goes to WR position out of the backfield. NO LINEBACKER IN THE COUNTRY CAN COVER HIM. He did not get bulk of the carries but I along with many others have seen him at practices tearing it up. Before the season started, some ESPN Analyst came to a practice and called Bush the next Mike Vick of college football. I agree with him. If you research my historical posts you will see the link. Not gonna go find it but that same guy ranked Bush top 100 player of football. TOO PRE-MATURE IMO but he did.

BUSH is not just hype because he did everything i said on the field. He is very proven. In addition to everything I just said about him, he also returns punts and kickoffs extroardinarily well. So lets see, he is a RB, WR, PR, and KR. A player who does multiple things benefits greatly in winning a heisman. Its true.

Bush should/will get more carries and playing time next year but not much more because USC is so talented and they share the ball. I think this year Lienart "might" win it because Bush will only be a soph. Mike Williams is the best WR in country but he is only a WR. TOO TOUGH to win it.

As for me recieving flack if USC loses next year. WHO CARES! I just post what i feel and support it with information to back it up. I think USC will win the NC this coming season. I feel USC has a 75% chance of going undefeated. That is my opinion. I am also going to put $1000 on USC to win the NC next year. So I am backing up what I say/feel. I am upset I am only going to get 3-1 or 4-1.

USC still has to replace 3 senior OL and 2 senior DB's which could be a bump in the road early in year. I am not too worried because Carroll recruited the #1 JC OL and the #1 high school OL and USC has very good (but young) returning talent. USC also has 1 good DB returning and 3 others competing for the other DB spot. Still big question marks and with USC playing V-Tech opening game it will be "TOUGH." USC does not play Div. 2 schools for their opening game. Also the game is virtually a home game for V-Tech. It will be very tough, but if USC is fortunate enough to win, USC has a very good chance in defending their NC.

Davis joining USC is great, but he will have to beat out Whitney Lewis and Steve Smith (both rated just as high as davis out of high school) and 3 other quality returning WR's to be 2nd or 3rd string WR at USC. I admire the guy for wanting to come to USC and compete. It is a very big challenge for him but lucky for him he gets to play spring ball and he is already physically mature. Oh yeah, he also might have to beat out current recruits Colvin or Jarret, and I think Jarret is more polished but less upside.

Lastly, have you seen Reggie Bush play? What is your opinion? IF any trojan fans reading this post or anybody else who has seen Reggie Bush play, please chime in.

Scott - since you asked for my opinion I will honestly tell you that I do agree Bush is impressive. Thinking back I believe I watched 4 USC games (ND,Wash, Oregon St, Michigan) and Bush scored at least one TD in all but the Rose Bowl. Out of all the games the Washington game was not only statistically his most impressive but overall as well. I think he had over 100 yards receiving in the 2nd half and scored on two long passes. He reminded me of LaDanian Tomlinson, who I believe is the best back in football and most underrated. Still, as an outsider viewing USC it seems hard to believe he will get the needed touches in the crowded backfield.

The VT game would've been HUGE had Kevin Jones stayed at school. While I will agree it will basically be a home game for Tech I would be shocked if they pull the upset. Tech has lost ground in recent years with the recruiting war against UVA and the last two years have been sub-par. While they did land Bell, a highly touted RB, this year he is a year away from serious PT. I can tell you now that Beamer is going over the Cal game where USC lost as well as the bowl game against Cal to mirror what worked and what to exploit.

You have addressed the two biggest questions with USC next year at OL and DB's. At some point I also have to question if Carroll gets all these guys will he be able to keep them happy in regards to playing time? Aside from an injury Booty won't take a snap unless it is mop-up when a year ago this would've been his season under center. Will he be able to sit around for another two years on the bench? Davis and Jarret, who I think they will get, would probably have seen significant PT at other schools and possibly been starting next year. Now they are 5th and 6th on the depth charts and will be lucky to see a ball all year. Again that is my point of view and I wish OSU had been able to get Davis but he had his own reasons for leaving the state. As I said earlier, it will be interesting to see how the next 3 years unfold for USC. They have the talent coming to be impressive but the pressure will be enormous and we'll see how they respond...

No Scott, LSU was the consensus #1 class last year by most sites. And how can you say that Booty is better than Wright or Leak when he hasn't even stepped onto the field?

Felonious Monk incorrectly wrote........
No Scott, LSU was the consensus #1 class last year by most sites.

The top 25 recruiting classes for "last year" were.........

#1 Florida, LSU, USC

According to many experts, all 3 schools recruiting rankings were basically equal. HOWEVER.......

Many people said USC had the best class but since they did not take a QB, did not get #1. If you are aware how recruiting rankings work, they give QB's more props. USC did not take a QB, so therefore was partially penalized. Lemming even wrote this was why USC did not have the #1 class which I think is BS. After USC recieved verbal from Booty, USC was classified #1. Does this mean anything? Not really. It is bragging rights I guess. USC will be shooting for back to back #1 recruiting classes.

Well after signing day JOHN DAVID BOOTY, the QB from Louisiana, graduated early from high school and went to USC. Booty they say was the #1 high school QB in the nation last year, and he was only a junior. He is suppose to be the best QB coming out of high school in LONG TIME. The kid is a stud and he has brains too! He easily put USC #1 ahead of LSU and FLORIDA.

BOOTY was much more heralded coming out of high school than either LEAK OR WRIGHT. Does that make Booty better? Not necessarily. So far I give the nod to LEAK because he has played. But if USC got to choose between Booty or Leak right now, without hesitation USC would take BOOTY.

First of all, Lemming is a clueless whack job. His #1 wasn't even in the Rivals Top 50. He's Big 10 biased and frankly I'm suprised that ESPN keeps him employed.

Regardless of what "people" said, USC was not the consensus #1 team last year so there's no way they can have back-to-back top classes.

Like I said, you cannot designate Carroll as THE #1 recruiter in the nation. Maybe this year but not on an overall scale. Stoops, Saban, Mack....OK I'm done with this, it's stupid. Please stop beating a dead horse.

You cannot say FL or LSU had a higher recruiting class than USC after BOOTY signed with USC. Majority of the recruiting experts said FL, LSU, and USC were dead even, and the one thing holding USC back was not taking a QB. Well USC did get a QB after signing day, and that QB was BOOTY, the #1 QB prospect. That easily puts USC #1. Learn how recruiting rankings are ranked.

Top 4 recruiting sites.

Superprep (Allan Wallace said USC was #1)
Insiders (Said USC #1)
Rivals (Said USC #1)
ESPN (Lemming) (Said USC #1)

All after Booty signed. Consensus #1. USC was debated #1 prior to Booty signing.

I bet you any money, Lucas here has posters of LSU champs up in his bedroom in his parents house, right next to his Michael Jackson, Kirk Cameron and Winger posters......

Lucas, you sure you think USC is that good. you spend a awefully lot of time convincing yourself they are that good. any person that spends that much amount of time on it, has some certain doubts.

Out of the five teams that you originally mentioned I would say 1. Mizzou, no chance they lose their whole interior offensive line, 2. Oreg, unless they play every game at home I give them little shot, their defense is soft.
3. Virg, too many tough road games and a new qb.
4. Va Tech will be overrated as usual and crush all their opponets until Nov then fold like a house of cards.
5. Florida, would have the best shot of the bunch but they looked terrible against Iowa.

What about Cal, Clemson or a real longshot Utah?

If you had somewhat of a reading comprehension, you would know the link you submitted has nothing to do with the argument. I said USC had the #1 recruiting class after Booty signed with USC, which was after signing day. This article was written prior to that. Before Booty signed with USC, it was debatable if USC had the #1 class, after Booty signed, USC was the #1 class. Simple as that.

If you want to impress me, find a recruiting ranking/article that says LSU #1 after USC signed Booty. You can't.

Recruiting rankings really don't mean anything, but facts are facts and I had to put Felonious Monk in his place.

Nice try Scott. Let me help you out now.

Jamie Newberg and Allen Wallace both work for Insiders.com and both persons have West Coast tilts. Superprep magazine has been operating in California since the 80's and as a past subscriber let me be the first to say that their ratings are generally not great. I don't think they have a lot of cash to actually travel and watch players play. Their main value is calling recruits, and getting grade, test and offer information. So would it make any sense for them to NOT upgrade USC's class to #1 to continue operating at a profit for their home-based readers?

And again, you DID NOT succeed my challenge to you because I said for you to show me where ALL of the publications changed their minds as you stated they did. Show me Rivals or ESPN changing their order. I'll still be here waiting for you to put me in my place. Geek.
