Sadly hoops, in some senses he's kind of right.

It's the media after all, and they're after a story. In b-more, some random black dude on the street gets killed and it's a blurb in the police blotter.

But, if a murder happens to a kid (B or W), to a college student (B or W), or in a ritzier neighborhood or tourist area, then you got a story.

Maybe if this was some poor black lady who disappeared while pregnant, it would be front page news all over the place, but I wouldn't bet the betting money on it.

Great quote by the way. Haven't seen GGGR in several years. My wife used to be a sales person, I used to tell her "A.B.C. . .A always. B Be. C Closing. . .Always Be Closing."

Shrimp- LOL...funny stuff with your wife. Mamet's dialogue is tremendous in that film. Baldwin was only in the movie a few minutes, but he did a tremendous job.

Maybe to some extent Wilson's post is correct....she was white, middle-upper class, that will garner more media interest (however wrong that is)...but the 'attractiveness' issue I do not agree with. We aren't talking about a Playboy playmate here. I just don't believe that if she was less attractive that the story wouldn't be what it is.

completely agree with that one.....

obviously they'll only print or report stuff that THEY think is newsworthy and sensational.

it gets to the point where you ask yourself, how many untold stories of missing street kids, deaths of homeless people, and people gone M.I.A are NOT reported?????

Bodies remain unidentified, families get no answers and killers get away....

"where's the love...?"

I think the fact that she was pregnant and killed is what made it newsworthy. If she wasn't pregnant it wouldn't have gotten as much publicity, IMO, regardless of what race she is.
