I am saddened by the fact that we're already at the end of the regular season.

Very important to jump on the "must wins" early if your going to play at all.
We all know it's better to save your money for the Playoffs but I like a little action every week ;)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -6.5

TENNESSEE TITANS -4.5 ( I see 6s & 7s now!!)

WASHINGTON REDSKINS -7.0

CLEVELAND BROWNS -9.5 (not a must-win) :nono:

i can't go w/ you on the titans........

there is no guarantee that peyton doesn't play and TN just isn't that good - i have seen 2 of their games in person this year. maybe you are right, but i don't trust them.

If Clev. loses, Tenn. being the SNF game will already be in ! Somehow, we need to look at the total perhaps.
Lots of NEW injuries to look at.

It is my understanding that if Tits win they are in,
if they lose they are out, Cleve game means nada,
regardless the outcome.

No offense but Kramer's post doesn't make any sence

If both teams lose on Sunday or both teams win on Sunday, who wins the tie breaker? They didn't play each other in the regular season, is their division record the next tie breaker?

i'm pretty sure CLE has to win and hope for a TEN loss or tie.

If Tennessee wins, the Titans are in regardless to what the Browns do.

If Tennessee loses, the Browns are in regardless to what the Browns do.

The only way the Browns game 'matters' is if the Titans game ends in a TIE....which would leave the Titans at 9-6-1...and the Browns at 10-6 or 9-7.

So yeah, the Browns do 'need' to win in case of the unlikely event the Titans and Colts tie......but it's a huge longshot that the outcome of their game will actually matter.

so the real bummer is that Browns could have controlled their own destiny by winning last week against the Bungals.
Now its up to Tenn...

If Tennessee wins, the Titans are in regardless to what the Browns do.

If Tennessee loses, the Browns are in regardless to what the Browns do.

Those two statements cannot both be correct, only one team owns the tie breaker. If the first statement is true, then Tennesse owns the tie breaker. Which means if Tennessee loses, the Browns are not automatically in, they have to win their game to avaoid the tie.

MadJack is correct...Tennesse has the tie breaker

Sorry for disturbing your thread Senor...thanks for the picks as always

No problem.

The way I understand NOW is......

Brownies don't care diddley about their game only the outcome of the Ten game.
Simply put Titans control Brownies destiny.

I understand that betting WEEK 17 stupid to say the least. I'm only in it for the action. Very small action.

this is true

this is true

Tennessee Titans 9-6 3-2 6-5 @ IND (13-2) = 13-2 (.867)
Pretty simple playoff formula: Win and they're in. Lose and they're out.

Cleveland Browns 9-6 3-3 7-5 SF (5-10) = 5-10 (.333)
They no longer control their own destiny. If Tennessee wins, the Browns are out. If Tennessee loses, the Browns are in.

It all makes sence now

The tie breaker is obviously division record, which is what makes this complicated/confusing. Tenn is playing a team inside its own division while Cleve is not. If Tenn wins they force a tie with Cleve in regular season wins and they beat Cleve in the tie breaker of division record. If Tenn loses they can do no better than tie Cleve in the regular season and they also tie in division record, which means Cleve must have the advantage in the next tie breaker...whatever that may be.

Clear as mud
