I would have liked to have seen the field goal attempt there, but that said, Longwell's career long is just 55.

Still, I don't know why Seattle didn't throw a quick pass up the middle and take a time out (they had 2 left). 6 seconds is more than enough and if they had gotten within, say 59 yards, they would have been much better off attempting the FG.

On the course!
There's something to be said about "scoring when you can", but twice this weekend, teams lost with :31 on the clock.

I don't understand leaving the other team with ANY time to score.

Even Atlanta left too much time at the end! Why not run the clock to the last play? If you miss, you are not getting the ball back anyway!

lol you can't just decide not to score a TD and then decide to score it on the next play. 11 guys on the other side trying to stop you. there are ways to play the clock but its not that easy...

Denver got the ball with 31 seconds. Balt had a little more than 31. Goes to show you that Denver shouldn't have kneeled.

amen....31 seconds left on the clock...and they moved the ball roughly 60+ yards in 18 seconds.....

that pretty much makes the point......

and kicking that fg from that far out with 13 seconds left could have left smith with serious egg on his face...he`s damne lucky that carroll gave bryant a practice shot....

You are right, but they were not going to be running the ball, so they didn't need 45 second from the 4 yard line. Every pass was going to be to the end zone.

but i do understand what your saying. not sure why falcons stopped clock at 13 seconds, maybe just took the timeout too quick by accident.

that said, no way can you run another play with no timeouts and try to get rid of a few seconds. too much risk of something weird happen.
