I don't even remember the last time I got the flu. I get a head cold maybe once a year but the flu hasn't visited my body in probably 30-40 years. I guess I'm lucky. I certainly don't take care of myself like I should.
Yep, I got it when I got a shot too like 8-9 years ago. I don't get those shots now, and I've heard arguments both for and against them.
I'm thinking I got it at work. Work in a big office building about 6 stories high and the HVAC system leaves much to be desired.
I never use to get it either when I worked in places that were one or two stories high and smaller buildings.

Okay, the flu shot can not give you the flu. No way possible...it's dead. Not a live virus. That's one of the biggest myths about the flu shot...google if you need it confirmed. What you felt are side effects from the vaccination, which can mimic flu symptoms but are milder. I have had this reaction.
If you've had the true flu, trust me, you would know it. You will be knocked on your ass and incapacitated for several days with the real thing.
I get the shot mainly since I'm a healthcare provider and it's the right thing to do. Since I get the shot I've not gotten the flu. I've got no issues with people who choose not to get it. It's a rolling the dice thing, but we're all gamblers here

if you were given a nasal spray, it was a live virus, which could cause milder symptoms then having the actual flu

I get a flu shot every year sure I've had winter colds and flu symptoms but I've never been down and out like a bad case of the flu can cause. To each his own.
