Dvlsu,

why don't you post your plays and open up yourself to criticism and until that happens really your nothing more than lurker and bring nothing positive or substantial to this handicapping forum...really all you've done is criticize people's opinion and bash people after the fact saying "I told you so"...You bring nothing to the table what-so-ever but self-proclaim yourself as some kind of sport genius...hey, if your so smart please post your plays and share your infinite wisdom with us all...In my book not posting your plays just means your some amateur off the street but in your case more of a joke...

And I'm sure you couldn't handle the criticism that comes with members who actually cap games and post plays...

Go post your garbage on another site LURKER!

:nono: :nono: :nono:

dlvlsu,

I am an AU fan and a huge believer that the SEC is best form top to bottom (not that, that means superior), but you are dead wrong in this tidbit of CFB knowledge.

Texas won the 2006 NC and every other team that was mentioned was right. FL won the 2007 NC! The NC year always corresponds to when the game was played, not the season!

Please take the time now to pull your head out of your azz and your foot out of your mouth!

Ok, that is quite an accomplishment, if it was consecutive like you made it sound earlier. Below you will find the LSU results. The fact that it happened, ok, glad you made history. I'd have been impressed had you gone 3-1 or 4-0, not 2-2.

In 2004, AU was preseason #1, and last year TN was preseason #3. Arkansas was #5 then lost their last 3 games, so what do preseason, midseason, or any rankings other than the final ones matter?

2 Sat., Sep 2 Louisiana-Lafayette W 45-3
3 Sat., Sep 9 Arizona W 45-3
4 Sat., Sep 16 @Auburn L 7-3
5 Sat., Sep 23 Tulane W 49-7
6 Sat., Sep 30 Mississippi State W 48-17
7 Sat., Oct 7 @Florida L 23-10
8 Sat., Oct 14 Kentucky W 49-0
9 Sat., Oct 21 Fresno State W 38-6
11 Sat., Nov 4 @Tennessee W 28-24
12 Sat., Nov 11 Alabama W 28-14
13 Sat., Nov 18 Mississippi W 23-20 (OT)
14 Fri., Nov 24 @Arkansas W 31-26
Bowl Wed., Jan 3 Sugar Bowl Notre Dame W 41-14

I give credit to FL for the 4 games stretch they played, but LSU's schedule and pounding you claim really was not that great. Before all those games who did they play or for that matter who did they play the following week? They look pretty spread out.

And no, I am not saying any Pac 10 team played a harder schedule, so leave that part out.

Can you honestly say that LSU was put to the test in any 2 consecutive games this year?

Be honest for once, what was so daunting about playing what now has amounted to 5 ranked teams all year? No one really cares where they were ranked when you played them.

I certainly would not ask you to say USC has a tough schedule and if you read more than just the last post I actually said I think many of the SEc schedules are tougher.

But for the fun of this: It is fantastic that LSU has 22 wins in the last 2 years and 2 Top 5's. The only other teams with simliar results are USC and OSU. Also, USC is my team and USC has 5 straight Top 5's and also 59 wins, which is pretty good no matter the comp.

Why do you take all of this so personally? I am trying to have a rational discussion and gain understanding of your interpretation of SEC dominance. I have no problem with the SEC and actually like the teams and the passion. What I don't undertand is your need to bash others on this board who are civil to you! And some of us are.

You say that they were not tested two weeks in a row. The whole point is that you have to come out and play ball every week, and if you dont come you are not going to have a struggle. Tennessee and Bama back to back and Florida and kentucky back to back is pretty damn tough.
Yes, Kentucky. They were solid and underrated all year and can believe anyone put money on clemson. Kentucky will beat mid tier teams in any conference consistently.
Next, when people point to bowl games records and non conference opponent records between conferences it is misleading. SEC is on the top of these, at least i know the non conference records but the only reason the percentages are even remotely close is partially because the top tier and mid tier teams in most conferences if not all usually play the mid tier and lower tier teams of the sec. South Carolina is another solid mid tier team, bama was solid mid tier this year and will be top tier next year. Vandy is not an easy win, look at georgia game. Georgia was down big this year, yet they still beat Va Tech in Peach. Ole Miss is lower tier now but they will be improving. State is the exception and the only exception in the SEC.
So the point is top to tbottom the sec is the best. Which means each week you have to come to play. There is not one game any team can afford to not play (even state--they are good for one huge upset a year). The road games are gruesome. Every team is strong at home and hard to beat. Some losse alot of home games but hardly ever are they blowouts.
So 4 top 10 teams in one year is incredible schedule. On the road on top of that. And then having to play bama, kentucky, etc on top of that is impressive.
I really do believe LSU is the most talented team in the nation. However, they just arent the best team. They are loaded with Saban's players and not Saban. Russell ****ed up so much all the time too. I hate LSU, I do, but I still think they are the most talented speedy team and that they could beat anyone, as they came together 2nd half of year.
Well anyway, just my 2 cents
Hope this doesnt offend anyone, but seriously quit being so conference partisan and look at the league (SEC) and then look at your league from the top to the bottom (that means every team from first to worst) and explain to me how any conference has been better in the past few years
Take Care guys

Arkansas and Notre Dame are pretty damn tough back to back too
--Youre right that maybe they didnt get tested, but that is just a compliment to LSU. 99.9% of the teams in the country would have found their schedule and any sec schedule as pretty damn tough

And one more question a hypothetical one: Lets say that USC played in consecutive order:

#1 Auburn
#3 Tenn
#5 Oklahoma
#6 LSU

All of those games were on the road and USC somehow won all those games. Then somehow, all those teams lost 4-5 games each.

How would it look for me to sit here and say that USC beat 4 Top 10 teams when USC played them when at the end of the season they were not ranked or barely ranked?

They really aren't back to back with 4 weeks between. Part of the argument made was that the SEC beats each other up every week and it is tough to stay healthy with all the pounding. With off games before difficult games, teams can play different styles or semi rest players and of course superior depth comes into play.

If you read this thread, you will see that no one is really disputing the SEC as a great conference and they are much more balanced this year. What people are responding to is DVLLSU and the lack of respect he shows to anyone else, any other team or conference, and the inability to engage in rational discussion.

I guess you did not read my post. Man from top to bottom they are by far the best. Yes, they beat up each other every week because there is no off games....there is typically no resting your players in the 4th etc.
I respect you and all just sayin, I dont know how you cant see this...i tried to explain in my post
best of luck to ya man
