Its still a pretty reasonable rate. You have to bet enough to make it worth while though. You can't bet $100 a unit and expect to win. Plus you have to get the bets down. If you can't its not worth it. I won't bet after the lines have moved.

I only bet golf on my own and follow his plays for the college sports and that is it.

I didn't actually see the rate he settled on. There have been a couple of times when I bought his 7-day packages, but that's it. I remember him sending an e-mail before the season started saying he was going to severely limit the amount of subscribers, and the price he quoted back then was A LOT. But he had to do that because he was drastically reducing the amount of people who could join. Didn't he have new registration 'closed' for most of last season? I give him credit for working his ass off to try and find ways around the instant line jumps.

You're right, most people who pay for his plays are dropping a lot of money on them, so the price hike probably isn't a big deal to them. The bigger books (Bookmaker, 5Dimes, BJ, etc.) move the lines pretty much instantly, so I think you have to find a smaller book that actually lists totals on all games.

Just follow some guys at MJ's and do good money management and you will win money here. Forget the pay services.:nono:

As I indicated in the OP I am not looking for a tout:shrug: Just curious what others experiences have been given the attitude toweard them.

Oh yeah. I do remember that. That was too rich for my blood at those rates. You would have to bet a fortune to justify paying those rates.

:mj07: I know. I'm not a bigtime gambler at all, so it wouldn't be worth it for me, either. And a lot of the books have lowered their max amounts on college totals due to his success, so it kind of makes it cost-prohibitive even if you are willing to bet a lot.

totally agree that you can do better following MJer's! I spend a lot of time in Pac 10 football that I rather follow someone else on other conferences.

Right angle, edward ( i believe a long time ago posted here ) only does college basketball, specializing in totals.

Follow Nole and go against his fade.

MONEY BABY!!!

:00hour

I'll post his plays until someone gets their panties in a wad about the fact that, "It's horrible to laugh at someone's misfortune".......blah, blah, blah.....

Never fails, someone will step up.

He calls, I let you know his pick, go the other way. It's pretty simple. If you like my fade, play his picks.......and lose!

That's not entirely true. I believe he does college sides and totals, college football, and WNBA. But college hoops totals are definitely what he's best at.

I understand people being skeptical about touts. I am, too. But I never understand the mindset of "most touts are lying scumbags, therefore it's impossible for there to be a tout out there who actually wins." That just seems like incredibly lazy thinking to me. It's easier to say "they all suck!" than it is to actually take the time to look at a guy's record, read reviews, look at who tracks him, listen to other people's experiences, etc.

As for just following the guys here -- I wish it were that easy. There are some very good cappers here, but most run hot and cold. They might have a good day, week, or even month, but it's very hard to win year after year. And personally, that's what I look for if I'm going to tail someone. The guy TU, johnnyb and I have mentioned hasn't had a losing season in college hoops in over 10 years. As good as the cappers are here, I doubt anyone can say they've done that (but I could be wrong).

I'm not knocking the cappers here. Hell, I can't pick winners to save my life. I'm just saying if people think it's risky to follow a tout (which it is), then you should realize it's also risky to put your money on the line based on what a stranger on an Internet forum thinks. I agree with the others in that I wouldn't recommend paying for picks, but I think you have to be careful tailing anyone.

I tend to agree with this which was the original purpose of the my post. That is also why I ask in the original post how many that had used a tout had the discipline to solely play the touts plays. I do however understand the "they are scum" mentality since 9 out of 10 are just out for a quick buck from a sucker. That however doesnt mean that there are not some hard working cappers that actually do well and care about their image if not their clients. It is interesting seeing the contrast in opinions. BTW yall have me interested in this dude that hasnt lost in 10 years:SIB

Fwiw....

Fletcher's service has a documented record covering the past 413 weeks, just short of EIGHT years.

In that time has produced a significant profit.

Having said that...over the past 52 weeks he is down money.

Well I certainly hope it didn't sound like I was shilling. :142smilie That wasn't my intention at all. I agree with the others when they say that most touts are crooks. That is absolutely true. And 9 out of 10 being crooks may be generous. I was just trying to make the point that just because an industry has a horrible reputation, it doesn't mean that every last person involved in that industry is crooked. It's kind of like saying all used car salesmen are dishonest, or all lawyers are ambulance chasers, etc.

The guy who hasn't had a losing hoops season in over 10 years is certainly the exception to the rule. And since he runs a service and you have to buy his picks, he would have to hit more than the standard 52% (factoring in juice) for his members to break even. In the past, when he didn't release many plays, he would have years where he ended only 1, 2, or 3 units up on the season. So in those years if you bought his picks you would probably end up in the red. In recent years he's released more plays per season and his units have gone up. Last year he finished 61 units up on the season.
