Sep 15, 2010 - Shannon Sharpe was among the best tight ends the NFL has ever seen and has had a successful post-football career as a CBS analyst after retiring in 2003.

Now his broadcasting career is in jeopardy after a woman named Michele Bundy has accused him of sexual assault, the Denver Post reports.

Atlanta's Fulton County Superior Court has granted a temporary restraining order against Sharpe following a petition filed by Michele Bundy under the category of "family violence."

Bundy alleged in her petition that Sharpe threatened her life and forced her into sex. A protection order hearing has been set for Monday.

Sharpe hasn't commented on the situation other than saying in a statement,"I have decided to step aside from the NFL Today (show) until this matter is resolved." CBS reportedly accepted his decision to take a leave of absence.

He's been eligible for the Hall of Fame and, as one of the best tight ends in NFL history, many expect him to eventually. Off-the-field situations are not supposed to be taken into account when Hall of Fame voters determine who's in and who's out so in theory this won't affect his chances.

I always called him "marbles" because he sounds like he has a mouth full of them when he talks on tv...

i know people are on the edge of their seats but had to relay the info

Shannon Sharpe returns to CBS

With Shannon Sharpe stepping aside until the legal case against him had been resolved and with the legal case against him resolved on Wednesday, Sharpe is now stepping back in.

"I had every expectation that based on truth alone these claims would never reach a court," Sharpe said in a statement released by CBS, per SportsByBrooks.com. "This issue was dismissed in its totality and no monies and no communications were exchanged. Now I look forward to getting to work."

Added CBS spokesperson LeslieAnn Wade, "We are pleased that Shannon will be in his usual position with The NFL Today on Sunday."

The protective order entered against Sharpe on an "ex parte" (i.e., he had no say in the matter) basis was withdrawn on Wednesday, and the case itself was dismissed. No further action against Sharpe is pending.

I take it one of two ways:

1) No canoodling took place, or

2) Ol' horseface paid this chick a shitload in hush money. Probably not Tiger Woods-type hush money, but a buttload nonetheless.

P.S. Thanks for giving me a reason to use 'canoodling' in a post, Weasie. I don't care what Pauly Shore says, you are BY FAR the funnier Weasel. :0008

In search of a new car, the player picks a door, say 1. The game host then opens one of the other doors, say 3, to reveal a goat and offers to let the player pick door 2 instead of door 1

Good ol' Monte Hall. Funny you mentioned goats, they had a real hard-on for goats on that show.

And I was always a big fan of the puke green washer/dryer combo, that back then would you set back about 6 grand. And I think the new microwaves were somewhere in the neighborhood of $40K. Yet the brand new cars were roughly $3.5K.
