Lol, na man. I think the smiley was enough. Don't think anyone reading that needed me to explain why it was/is funny.

Probably not. I knew what you meant by it as well. The thing is uga, I'll readily admit that I am an opinionated person and am wrong as often as I'm right. I do defend certain stances that I am passionate about and I'm certainly caustic and polarizing at times. I am not someone that's unwilling to compromise or take the apathetic approach to social issues. Many of my positions aren't popular but they're mine and I'm passionate about them. It is what it is.

Out of the 300 and change gun shootings we have had in the country this year please let me know how many have come from atheists and agnostics. Probably very few or even none. So Buddy and the like, while Christianity at this point and time is not as bad as Islam don't think some of your teachings don't have blood on you hands in regards to the Planned Parenthood killings. So as far as I am concerned the door can hit you in the ass on the way out just like muslims.

JT,

In regards to the Planned Parenthood atrocities, please try to understand that calling yourself a Christian is a far cry from sincerely trying to follow the teachings of Jesus himself. Jesus didn't commit murder nor did He encourage his followers to do likewise. He called them to repent of their sins. A lot of people want Jesus and the promise of Heaven, but very few are willing to sign the contract. Trying to follow Christ is not easy. It's a discipline and there are conditions. It's a conversion, a noticeable change in a persons life for the better. Calling yourself Christian is not a religious permission to do whatever you feel like doing and then expecting forgiveness.
Be it an individual or a group hiding under a Christian title (Westboro Baptist Church) who commits a heinous act is not Christianity. I know it, you know and anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it too. The bible has much to say about groups like WBC. You can google it and see for yourself.
This is one verse, but there are many others: ?And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.? ~ Matthew 7:23
I can't change the way you feel, but I can and will defend Christian doctrine to the best of my ability whenever the need arises.

Then why can't the same be said for ALL other religions?

Peace! :)

It can.
The difference is in the doctrine and the life led by the leader.
Regarding doctrine, Allah taught his followers to "Kill the infidel".
Jesus taught to "Love thy neighbor as thy self."

I try to follow Christ. I do not try to follow other Christians.

These Pranksters Read Bible Passages to People, Telling Them It Was the Qur?an

These Pranksters Read Bible Passages to People, Telling Them It Was the Qur?an

Most of it. Kinda' skipped over the genealogies. What's your point?

A lot of conservative Christians like to argue, as do atheists, that the Qur?an is full of barbarism and misogyny. Unlike the atheists, though, they forget that their own Bible is also full of horrific verses.

So the Dutch pranksters at Dit Is Normaal ran an experiment. They bought a Bible, but changed the cover to say it?s the Qur?an. Then they asked people to read passages and give their thoughts.

It went exactly as you?d expect:

It?s almost as if these people hadn?t read their Bibles? but that?s impossible, right?

So what's your point?

The point is that all three texts are relatively similar, with one or two fundamental differences. Maybe, as illustrated by this example, individuals simply pick and choose from the text they choose to follow as it suits their needs, objectives, and agenda. They criticize the others without reflecting on the similarities with their own text.

They all originated from the same source! Thus, instead of validating one over the others, acknowledge that the main tropes are identical, as is the case with all religions (except for maybe Satanism and voodoo - although I am parroting an uninformed stereotyped opinion about the latter two): live in peace, be kind and helpful to others, and don't be a fucking assclown! Period.

Peace! :)

There is a reason why Christians no longer live under the Old Testament Laws. It has to do with covenant and dispensational theology. You can google the question and hopefully find an answer that you think is satisfactory.

"...but as for me and my house; we will serve the Lord."

Blessed be the name of Jesus.

Accept a certain way or belief or you will suffer eternal damnation. At it's base, it is extortion. Put a sweet spin on it all you want buddy.
Yes, Jesus as he is described would not shoot a bunch of people. But when many factions of your faith are basically in a holy war against abortion in a rhetorical sense and law based then there will be those who will do dangerous things.
