sorry if i came off too strong with my post.

i'm definitely not a conservative.

my past voting record i think supports more of a democratic way of thinking.

but that was my earlier years(lol)

i voted for eugene mccarthy in '68, mcgovern in '72, carter in '76, clinton in '92 & '96, & gore in 2000.

i am basically pro-choice, i want some type of gun control, & not big on religion.

on the other hand i believe in capital punishment, don't believe people should be getting welfare checks without making some type of contribution to society, & believe that whoever is the president derserves our respect.

there are other issues to discuss, but i think you get my drift.

my "conservative way of thinking" as you call it pertains to the war on terrorism. and since that is mostly what we are discussing here i may come off as a conservative.when other topics come up for discussion i may side with the democratic way of thinking.

9/11 changed my thinking.

terrorism is my #1 issue

basically, i believe bush is fighting the war the correct way. do i agree with everything he has done ? of course not.but i believe that most of the democratic party don't have any clue in dealing with this issue for numerous reasons which i don't feel like getting into.

but getting back to whether clinton was a hell of alot better than the rest of them.

i take it you mean in our lifetime.

if that is correct, i think history would show that reagan would be the best of our lifetime.

but that is not saying much since the others in our lifetime didn't do much to distinguish themselves.

and i believe history will show that clinton would be ranked average at best.

there are too many questions about him handling the alqaeda threat which leaves him as average.

again, i apologize if i came off the wrong way in my previous post.

Let's face it, it's pretty much universally agreed on that Bill Clinton was a great president,

Of Course! All the greats were impeached.

With Hill next door to the oval office we wouldnt have to bring interns in.

Wanna Bet $$$

Eddie
We'll just have to disagree.

OOOOHHHH---Trouble in Paradise. When does the name-calling start?

I agree with Brother Ed that it would almost be worth it for him to pick her. The reactions would be great.

Word Up Dawg. Whatitis, Whatitis?

Sorry kosar, but you must live in a different universe than I.

I believe the name is Bizarro!

Hillary 2008. Watch out now.

See Below

I just heard this that based on what he has done so far, a vote for Bush is no longer a choice but, rather reflects a character flaw in the voter.

The correct term is 'Chad.'

As far as my 'partisanship' goes, wake me up when you post one article, or make one post that doesn't pander to the conservative way of thinking.

"If you are not a Liberal when you are 20, you have no Heart. If you are not a Conservative when you're 40, you have no Head."

again, i apologize if i came off the wrong way in my previous post.

AR, Hope we're @ the same table next SB.

hmmmmm-huh, errrr What? Oh sorry Mr Marshall. I guess I was lost in thought. Yes alright, well then..........Peter I'll take Ralph Nader to block

if that female is elected i will be very sad. the last thing i want to see is a socialized medicine. i work a job with good benefits and decent pay. i earn those benefits, daily. i do not want to be forced to stand in line for treatment with everyone else. f' her and the giving away of $$. maybe she and that slick dick she is with can start by donating 1/2 their cash right away to the poor. hell, they already are entitled to $$ and benefits i will never see. as well as there own security team. i am amazed and sickened by elitest democrats that live far better than the avg blue collar guy, but know the best way to redistribute wealth. it is pure crap. the arrogance is absurd. furthermore, the arrogance applies to both parties. the misuse of the tax dollars by any and all administrations is an absolute travesty. sorry, as i get carried away.

I don't think there is any chance Hilliary would accept nomination--I may be wrong.
As I said previously Edwards people have been bringing in most of contributions from Lawyers which are Kerry's biggest contributors so I anticipate the scratch my back scenerio.

---and wasn't picking on you Kosar on the "he great president issue" as it doesn't make any diff if one was a great pres from either side you will still have bout 50% of population argue as most people are baised from either side.

I'm just now starting to get the impression that not everybody agrees that Clinton was a great president.

AR, it's no problem at all, man. After SixFive was incredulous that I could refer to myself as a moderate, I listed 13 issues that typically are divided by party. On 7 of them, I sided with the Republican view. Strangely, nobody commented on that post. Then you came in with the 'partisan' stuff. I'll plead guilty if the definition of partisan is a deep mistrust of this admin.

You have mentioned both publically and privately that you have somewhat of a newfound 'conservative' bent because of 9/11. I can understand that, but by the same token, this admin has had the opposite effect on me, for many reasons, but primarily because of this farce in Iraq.

As far as Bill Clinton goes, he was better than some, worse than some, but a hell of a lot better than what we have now. IMO, it's not even close.

It would scare the shit out of me if Hillary is ever elected president or even if she's one assasination away from being president.

And just like the last two SB parties that you've been to, you're sitting with Jack and I. Lay off, chanman, he ain't going nowhere.

no problem, Dogs. You're right that opinions will generally be biased, but I thought that surely somebody would take a wild guess that I wasn't being entirely serious when I said that Clinton is 'universally thought of as great.' I mean......

Clinton did as good as most or better. Then he just had to get one more BJ. Bush only wishes he could come up with jobs like Regan and Clinton did. Did some one mentioned a new minimum wage of 7 bucks. Why not have it what ever poverty is. That is if anyone know's the right way to calculate poverty. And health care should be affordable for all. If we are the great-es country on earth. We better be able to do a few small things such as these.
