No shit. I get them 2x's a year for the last 10 years, and can't stop them. I am a medical sales rep, therefore I know what meds I need and can get. I don't even play around anymore, and just get on an antibiotic right away, which I just started yesterday.

yeah but the anti-biotics don't prevent you from getting future infections....

You are correct, otherwise I would be cured. I will definitely look into your stuff right now. Thank you again.

Antibiotics should not be used for sinus. Thats why people are demanding it all the time and look where it got us....SUPERGERMS....that is resistant to all antibiotics.

How bout staph? Its making a BIG comeback everyday.

Best thing you can do is STAY HOME!!!! Dont go out spreading that shit around. Keep yourself clean and drink plenty of fluids.

To a point I agree, as the germs whatever they may be will build up tolerance to antibiotics over time. There is no way to spread this news to everyone and have them COMPLY, and I can't afford to be laid up for 1-2 weeks....sorry.

My question to you, ever have a sinus infection? I can't breath, and can barely hear out of my right ear and my head might explode. You try to fight this off with green tea/honey, water, oj, and sudafed....good luck.

for stuffed up sinus...I use Vicks nasal spray...best thing over the counter there is to open up your sinus. Get the 12 hour kind, not the regular one.

If you want a cheaper alternative, then use Ayr nasal spray, which is nothing more than a mixture of salt and water. But it doesnt clearly open up the nasal as good as the Vicks. The advantage of Ayr is you can use it as much as you want to. Vicks cannot be overused.

If you MUST get out, try to avoid large congregation of people. The more you mix in with them, the longer it will take for you to get over it. DONT go out to eat or shopping!!!

i was told by a few doctors that sprays like vicks or afrin are not good for the heart & sprays such as ocean or anything else that contains salt water are much better..

I've been using Vicks for 7 years now and I am fine. Doctors are NOT always right, ya know!

Yes, Ayr and such is better for you because you can use it as much as you want to but it doesnt do the job as well as Vicks.

Sinus infections

Sinus infections

I can sympathize, have had them many times for 20+ years.....without fail.

Tried everything....finally found a very competent ENT.. Ear nose throat doctor.

In my case, it was over enlarged turbinades.(they are in your sinus passages and condition the air you breath.) mine were blocking, and out of control, contributing to mucous drainage and resulting infections

For years my nose was so stuffed I could hardly breath thru the nose, and had constant infections.

I had a major turbinade reduction operation 4 years ago, and periodically squirt a saline solution in the dry season, and have not had a problem in 4 years.

There is hope, just do some research in your area.
