Everything went fine. Shortly after 10 PM the nurse came in and hooked all of the electrodes and crap to my head and chest. At first it was uncomfortable but eventually sleep won over. About 1:30 AM she came in the room and hooked me up to the CPAP machine. She said I had major issues, LOL. When I woke up this morning she told me that I might even have to have oxygen along with a CPAP machine as I was still having difficulty breathing even wearing the mask.

BTW, the mask is very weird although I'm sure I will get used to it over time. I woke up a few times during the night and had to pull the mask off to breathe normally. It felt very constricting and suffocating at times.

Anyway, it went well. Results will be sent to my doctor within the next 10 days, but based upon what she told me this morning, I'm getting a sleep machine.

had the same experience as Jack; out by 0500.

I'm quite sure you didn't have a "nurse" taking care of you; more likely a Respiratory Therapist. I knew you had sleep apnea before the test too. You'll love your CPAP; they are a life changer for many people.

YES! We can room together again. Ask Dad about his CPAP, he loves it! but had to go through 4 or 5 to get the right one. Fred Strong wears one too.

RT, you might want to inquire about what might happen if you lose a few hundred pounds because, i think, once you get started on that machine you can't get off. i'm sure after you lose a lot of weight you'll be fine. hell, i only lost 30 pounds and it helped the snoring greatly.
