Harry Potter.

Don't read further in the thread if you don't want to know. I haven't read one of the books yet and I'm not starting now.

I've seen the movies, thought this latest one wasn't all that good but it appears I'm in the minority.

Anyways, does he die?

Thanks.

my daughter is on vacation, but I have some pre-order ticket I'm supposed to go fulfill today. I've never read the books, but I have enjoyed the movies.

I googled spoilers, so I'm not sure if they are correct...

SPOILERS below, don't scroll if u don't want to know:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

One of the Weasley twins gets snuffed by Voldemort, and the other gets his ear cut off. Snape gets killed by Voldemort  Voldemort dies.

Ditto on the first paragraph.

As far as the second paragraph, pictures of 'midnight madness' at Barnes & Noble was evidently considered newsworthy enough to be on the front page of todays paper.

They had Harry Potter 'readings' starting at 5pm leading up to midnight to entertain people.

On yesterdays front page was a a f*cking picture of a pallet of books wrapped up in stretch-wrap with actual 'guards' (employees, but their job was to keep an eye on the books) watching over the books.

And people get on me for liking 'Laguna Beach' and 'Saved by the Bell.' WTF is that stuff, man?

On the course!
I think if you stood in line to buy this book, you should head up the street and stand in line until church services start tomorrow, too. Once inside, ask the god of your following for a life.

not sure why people line up. know someone who does some writing and was sent the third book ( a few years back) she was offered $400.

the person wanted to read it that badly, I mean why not wait 48 hours. she did not sell the book because she could then lose her job over it....still why do people wait in long line for a movie or a book when they can just walk in a few days later.....

never really understood, maybe it is the event....the hype.

thanks

I have read the Hairy Pooper line of paperbacks. I don't remember anyone dying or getting their ear cut off although things go a bit sketchy after about eight minutes and then I lose interest and take a nap.

Well, I bought the book for my 11 year old. He's hibernating in his room. I have to admit, he was really giddy walking out of the bookstore. Grin from ear to ear. That was worth the money right there.

I guess some good can come from it. Reading is a good thing.

Guess I don't understand the hype involved. People were camped out all nite but you could get one in the morning?

don't understand it either... I picked up the one for my daughter this afternoon that she and my wife reserved back in April. Doing it that early, however, qualified her for a free poster.
