My family and I attended Good Friday services today and Ted Cruz and his family joined us. I had the opportunity to speak with him briefly afterwards.

It was a very interesting afternoon to say the least.

OK I'll bite ..what was so interesting ???

Maybe I'm just easily impressed.

Bending a knee and then having a very brief conversation with a Presidential candidate was interesting in 1000 ways.

He and his family seemed very nice. They asked for no special treatment. They walked in and out of the Church with everyone else. Good Friday is a much longer service compared to a normal Catholic mass. The whole family stayed the entire time. No announcements were made and no media were called. The Church was fairly full and several people still have no idea that he was even there.

He obviously didn't want a photo op because there were no reporters there to my knowledge. They came, worshiped and visited with a few people that knew he was there and then they left.

So, to me, it was interesting.

Why do you have to bite? Having a one to one conversation with a Presidential candidate? I am sure you could have thought of some things to converse about.

You know, the weasel is no fan of my contributions to the site, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying his work. He's one sharp dude, which makes him the opposite of both hammer and hedge imo

How was his security deployed in a church setting ? I'm guessing that he has 24/7 secret service protection but I could be wrong.

we definitely disagree on some things ideologically..you can`t be regulars on a forum with so many other opinionated guys for14 years without a little friction seeping through on occasion...... ...there are any number of posters in here who I`m sure have profound ideological disagreements....but in the large majority of cases, they`re all decent, smart guys(that`s you, cie) and the forum would be greatly diminished without them..their "every other post" isn`t intended to be a sharp stick in the eye of those with opposing viewpoints...they`re reasonable people and get that there are actually other people with differing opinions in the forum who would rather not be slapped each time they check in for a laugh or some casual b.s.`ing with friends... case in point pocket aces` fairly benign ted cruz post(and believe me,i`m no big fan of cruz).....

hammer obviously doesn`t get this...I`m pretty sure his most recent report card read"doesn`t play well with the other children"....
