I used to give to some charities when I was younger and all it did was generate more and more phone calls from them. Special Olympics asked for a certain amount when you donated, not just what you could afford. The last straw was when after you were not giving anymore, they actually put on some of the kids to try and make you feel more guilty. I do not donate to anybody anymore.
I feel ya. I donate annually to MD Anderson and St Judes. Both spam me by mail, email and telephone year round.
my neighbor died a couple years ago of cancer and I donated 100 bucks to MD Anderson in his name and they harass me all the time for more money:facepalm: I haven't given them another dime
Yea,this overdoing it stuff is getting to me. Give to st Jude and almost immediatly get another request. Got one from disabled vets that included a large calculater and a hard cover date book. Wish they'd stop with that make you feel guilty gifts.
I never understood gifts for donations. Wouldn't the donation go farther if you didn't have to buy gifts to give people?
Now I know some of the gifts are available through corporate sponsors or donations themselves, but you could ask the same thing about those.
