For those who know me I've worked for the past 2 1/2 years at home selling stuff online and marketing services to small businesses. It has been a great ride and I love the freedom it has given me to pursue some of my other passions. The time has come to look for something more stable and where I can move up.

A friend referred me to a position at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN (20 minutes from Chicago) as an account executive. I was surprised to hear back from them right away. Today I had my interview and it went really well. They even discussed salary and benefits.

I'm not sure if any of you have experience working in the gaming field or not but if you do perhaps a few words of advice would be great. I would have loved to gone offshore and taken a position at a book but I'm not sure how exactly to go about that.

I'm 28 years old, recently single, and although I do own a house I'm pretty much able to make a leap anywhere in the world in a second if an opportunity arises.

Ok I want on and on and ranted. This is really the only outlet I have for my gaming and gambling jones's.

You guys have been nothing short of awesome and hopefully something will come up or I will get this.

Go Bulls!

I don't have any advice for you - sorry.

But I do want to say good luck! The gaming industry is thriving (It is on the uprise as the consumer's disposable income is on the rise and has been since last Oct.)

I hope you get it! If you do, come hang out with us at the casino when the MJ group gets there at the end of July!!!!

Congrats!!!!!

Good luck.
You should send them a thank you for the interview email if you have the email address of the interviewer.

Make sure he remembers you in the coming days in case he is bringing in others for the interviews.

Great advice. And maybe I'm just a cheeseball, but I usually snail mail an actual thank you card to the person. I once had an employer tell me that nearly everyone she interviewed sent her some form of thank you e-mail, but I was the only who took the time to mail a thank you card. It may not help, but I figure it can't hurt.

Having a gambler go to work for a casino is like Tiger Woods opening a strip club while trying to fix his marriage.
