We started with $7000 in chips. The very first hand I had pocket Q's. I lost $4200 in the first hand to a guy that slow played pocket K's on a 9 high board with no straight or flush cards.

The next 2 hours I worked my stack back to about average, then the AA hand.

WTF was the guy thinking

He said he didn't think I would call? Half my stack was in the pot. CHRIST!

Some kid in his hoodie and sun glasses

BTW, the 'push' was very dramatic too. :mj07:

He has this huge fucking stack and he S L O W L Y stacks them all into ONE stack, S L O W L Y slides them into the pot and then S L O W L Y tips the stack crashing down into the middle.

Feel your pain Buddy.

Playing in LA Classic shootout yesterday. Win the first table and cash $1200 while moving on to 2nd level, $335 buyin . First place $30,000.

We're down to 3 players at the first table, I'm 2nd in chips, look down at pkt Kings on the button, first to act raIse 4 times the blind, the small blind chip leader comes over the top. BB folds and I think about it for about a second and shove as this guy has been playing very aggressive the whole day.

He insta calls with KQ suited in hearts and flop comes 3 hearts.

AMAZING:mad:  :sadwave:

always find these threads interesting.

I would not have temperment for high stakes poker. Just too many varibles.

Not be able to control risk factor--plus you could play flawlessly and get beat by an idiot--would make my head explode. :)

Mental note- Wear hoodie and sunglasses when playing against Jack, just to intimidate him

thanks Jack, I look forward to seeing you at the table!!!:SIB

Honestly i hate playing with pocket Aces..........i have found over the years that i lost with that hand more than i win............So i have learned that if i do get them i go all in at the begining.........if someone wants to call me then i have the best hand out of the gate......however i will not slow play that hand as that is when you get your balls busted.:sadwave:

I don't care to slow play them, but I've just learned to get away from them with 3 to a flush or straight on the board and somebody betting like an idiot. It's fun to crack them though when somebody else does slow-play them. In this situation that Jack had, he played correctly and just got screwed. :(

It's one pair, you have to be able to fold against bad boards. Jack played them correctly obviously and that's where you want your money in a tourney, pair over pair.

Like Doyle said, usually with aces you win a small pot or lose a big one.
