Fair enough and I think your move was a wise one. Teachers and schools are only as good as their current environment and the product they have to work with.

My wife's TOP student has an IQ that just barely crosses over into the normal range. The rest fall way below that. She tries like hell but needs help from parents that just don't give a shit.

Was this convention a surprise to you? You didn't know that teachers had inservice days, and conventions, etc, even when you went to school?

If you didn't plan for today and tomorrow, that's not WEACs fault.

I know, I know.........Those fucking teachers aren't worth a pinch of shit, UNLESS they're babysitting your kids.

Will parent's help raise IQ's? I thought your I Q is mostly something you are born with?

I was really referring to the point that parental involvement could help these poor kids achieve more than their IQ might reflect.

You are correct to some extent but the IQ test is measured in standardized tests in a society that is anything but standard across the board. Parental involvement could certainly improve the scores to a small degree in that respect. However, parent involvement through the learning process is priceless and may help the child in areas that standardized tests may or may not measure.

Face it, when the kid's dad is long gone and mom is a crack head, a child's future is very predictable. Not many teachers can overcome that.

90% of teaching, at least the things that matter, goes on in the home. If parents aren't happy with their kids they need not blame the teachers or schools. They need to look in the damn mirror.

Right you are friend. Some get this but amazingly to me many don't. Teachers are teachers, not miracle workers.

Where the hell do you live to have so many lower IQs? I know one thing when I went to school my parents made sure I was doing good.. If I was to piss off and not do the work then I would have my possessions taken away, football, ball glove, ATARI 2600 :mj07: Plus there was no fucking around with adults like the kids now do.. A crack in the ass was a common place and no time outs.. What the hell was that?

I thank my parents greatly for being that way too, and if I needed help in school they gave it to me. Did not need much though cause I had to give the effort.
